I have zero issues with pad noise running MX72 Plus but YMMV. I'm using the stock Brembos so not 100% identical to your Sumitomo setup.

Are the brembos better than the sumitomos?

Well, yeah. They're bigger, for one thing, so they soak up more heat from stops before calling it quits. They are also stiffer calipers. The Sumitomos aren't terrible, but they are definitely not as stiff as the Brembo calipers.

Update guys: Brakes aren't squeeking as bad during normal driving. They only squeek a little bit now after i mash on the brake really hard and then they will start squeeking slightly when coming to a complete stop. Still a mystery on why that is, but thanks everyone for the help.

Sounds like you didn't install the missing brake shims/hardware.

I dont understand how shims will cause that... the squeek is coming back now, but it comes back in really random times. Sometimes when i go on the brakes hard and it gets hot, then it will start to squeel. Sometimes i'll drive normally and it will not make a noise. And sometimes ill drive normally and it will STILL Squeel. This is driving me nuts.

Yeah ok, so have a think about it. What is sound? A vibration that propagates as an acoustic wave?

When the pad and disc make contact, there is vibration. That vibration causes your lovely high pitched noise.

The shims prevent the transmission of vibration.

No vibration, no noise.

Now lets keep thinking about the situation.

You are an OEM. You are trying to make a profit. Why would you manufacture all of these unnecessary brake shim hardware if it does nothing? Is that money well spent?

Look at all of the stock cars around you. They are dead quiet. They have brake shims/hardware.

Your skyline came from the factory with quiet brakes. It also came with brake shims/hardware installed.

If you cannot install the brake shims/hardware, clean off all of the built up brake dust. If you still can't install it, get your hands on a workshop manual, instructions, watch youtube videos or just take the car to a mechanic who can do it for you. It's a 5 second job so should be very cheap to do.

Shims are changing the Q factor of the resonant peaks in the brake system. Sometimes you might not have the right conditions to trigger those resonant peaks. If you can't fit the shims in the brake pads you need to push the pistons back into the caliper.

Just remove any shim or pin you like if you don't think it makes a difference. Ignore what Nissan designed. 🙄

Is the girlfriend still your girlfriend and does she ride in the car now? :)

It always makes me laugh when I hear things like this, when I was a young bloke I bought a old Mk1 Escort, one of my mates said "how do you expect to have a girlfriend in a old car like this", my reply was "if she doesn't like the car she can walk, and if she is more interested in the car I drive than me she can fark off"

This is how you can tell if you have a good woman, they care not about things like the cars you drive or what it sounds like

Pandering to crazy obsessed women who care more about how they look in a car than the person driving it is something that I've always kept away from

Not saying my Mrs isn't crazy at times, but it's typically me being a idiot that incites the crazy 🤪

You've had some decent suggestions above now, I'm just going to suggest the obvious.

Change girlfriend, problem solved. Other random unpredictable problems may present themselves. Your experience may vary...

QFT

Seems I provided sage advice. Glad your problem/s are sorted.

    • They see me rollin' they hatin'....... Took me most of the day to make the necessary mods to the mounts to make them fit the car.  Fortunately I was able to just use the mounts that came with the rotisserie. The rear ones are really secure, the front I feel i might reinforce a bit more as it doesn't seem like enough attachment to the vehicle. I'm sure it's fine but better to be safe than (extremely...) sorry.  I drilled and tapped thread into additional M12 holes to each car mount where it attaches to the rotisserie as an extra fail-safe. Without them the side to side movement is just restricted by the allen head pinch bolts, nothing actually goes though the beam. Does now! I still need to adjust the rotisserie to get the car centred in terms of centre of gravity. If it's too high or too low relative to the rotational centre line of the car, it will be like a turtle and roll onto its back or as it currently sits, I dont think I'd be able to rotate it as it sits as it needs to lift the whole car up as it rotates. Ain't happening... I'm going to be nervous as hell the first time I go to spin it on its side...
    • Oh yes done this when the window started flopping around.  Turns out the guides that run along the rail chanel had crumbed way. Took off the door card and pulled out the window mech, then the window, which you have to pull out through the top. As said unbolt the guide rail and don't spend 30 minutes getting frustrated trying to find a way to slide it out upwards cause that don't frigging work. Drop it down and out through the door hole. All I did to repair it was slice some 10mm clear plastic tube, vertically, then screw it to the guide rail both sides. This tubing rolls inward on both sides and leaves a gap wide enough to hold the window. To finish all I did was lube the plastic tube with olive oil and Bob's your uncle . . . well if he has the operation he can be your Aunt ! !  10 bucks in plastic tube and another 5 minute job done again . . . . YEH BULLSH#T ! My love for Skylines knows no bounds !
    • So was there a solution to this problem? I’m having this issue now.
    • not expensive, just irreplaceable if you don't go sub 60 at wakie in that thing people will start talking
    • I haven't replaced that, but I have had the doors apart on the r32 a couple of times The door skin will be held on by a combination of clips and bolts, just take it slowly and make sure all the sneaky hidden bolts are out Once the skin is off you should be able to pop that piece off pretty easily, looks like there are only 2 bolts holding it on
