Rb20det comp test

Hi all just done a comp test on my rb20det.....

On a scale of 1/10 how cooked is this engine🤣. Thanks

#5 tells the story. None of the other values are great.

The absolute values cannot be trusted unless you know the gauge is correct, but the general lowness and the fact that there is wide variation and one that is really low means it's time to open it up and let the Nissan out.

Hi would it make any difference that i had done the comp test on cold, still though something isn't right with #5

Yeah it will be better warm as the pistons expand but 5 looks f**ked

One cylinder being down is proof positive you need to pull it and rebuild. Even if an engine compression tests ok you still want to leakdown test it ideally to verify everything is healthy.

Normally if an engine seems f**ked it is f**ked. Tests aren't needed when the problem is obvious. Not sure when people do a comp test on a engine that has issues ( smoke, blowby, rattles etc )  what they really want to find.  Regardless head needs to come off for a look, nothing can be fixed otherwise.
