Series 3 R33 GTR engine block stamped with a R above engine no?

Can anyone tell me why my engine block has a R stamped above the engine no? And is there a way to match a engine to the vin of a GTR

Not sure about the R, but only aus GT-R had an Australian compliance ate to reference the engine number.

So there is no such thing as a matching numbers imported GT-R as no one has ever found a reference to engine numbers

The R on the block is meant to be added when the original block is replaced by a brand new one (which comes from Nissan with no engine number), so there has been a major repair to your car somewhere along the way
