33GTR Climate control unit went dead

Hi Guys!

I'm having problem with my climate control unit, it died all of a sudden. Checked the fuses and relays. The buttons light up with the headlights but nothing on the display nor any of the functions work, including the re-circulation and rear defrost.

I have noticed another post from a few years ago on the same topic but there was no solution mentioned.  Any other ideas?

"Checked relays and fuses"..... does that mean you broke out the multimeter and probed the connector on the back to ensure that power and earth are actually present on the unit itself? Checking fuses is only the very first step in the process.

Well, I checked all the fuses in the fuses box and they were all good. I swapped the A/C relay with a known good relay and the climate control unit was still dead. 
I have not checked the back the climate control unit with a multimeter for power as I do not know which terminal/wire should have power when it’s supposed to.

They're cheap enough it might be worth just buying one and giving it a go.  I paid $100 for one off Ebay.

I have ordered one already.  Just covering my basis, in case it might be something a bit more cynical.

Oh I never fit any parts.  I just order them and put them in various piles in the shed!  I've spent more money on parts on my car over the past 10 years than I bought my car for and the majority of those parts are not in contact with the car!

Nah I only buy, rarely sell!
