Trunk/Gas Lid cable broke, any idea how to access it?

I opened the panel in the boot, but theres another metal panel covering the gas lid access, so i cant reach it.

Yeah, you need to jack up the car, remove the wheel then remove the plastic cover over the filler neck. 

Will be interesting to see what broke, there is a failure prone plastic nut that holds the catch in place

Thank you. i was scratching my head. what broke was actually the level by the driver side. the cable snapped there.
