Car didn't have a catalytic converter (when I bought it) and I failed an emissions test. Got an new one easy enough, but what is the flow direction? I.e. which side needs to face the front/back of the car?

The spigot is for a temp sensor, which I will be plugging up. Is there any issue with this?

Thank you

I'm pretty sure the temp sensor goes to the front, and also that it will only sit properly against the floor if it is the right way around as the flange bolts are offset

At least on the R33 GTR it seems to me that the factory cat EGT sensor is towards the back of the car, you can see the wire sticking out of this one:

Some older models only have 1 before for fueling, later they also had 1 after to measure emissions and the efficiency of the cat

My old (2002) only has 1 before the cat
