Hi everybody. I am currently doing an engine rebuild and decided to swap out the o rings and seals for the front diff  as I’m certain they were never swapped. As I was tapping out the sleeve for the shaft the socket jumped out and I sent it home. My question is, would it be ok to file the edge of the gouge and leave it as is? I see that the diff fluid travels down the sleeve and is sealed on the other side. Has anyone ever made this mistake?

f**k, you didn't miss!

sorry, I don't have any direct experience, not sure if it will leak or not

Just my luck. The build was going really smooth until now😵‍💫
