So I have been watching some of the video's peddling these and on paper they look like magic.

I have a r34 getrag with a nismo supercoppermix  and its amazing to drive, just holds the power but the box is noisy and I would like a little more room power wise.

So the claim is with the new dampening design in the Uniclutch I will get "near" factory levels of gearbox noise without the dual mass flywheel.

The torque ratings are very high so power seems like no issue, 800ft/lb will be near 1000hp on an rb26.

So the only question I have is pedal weight,  it will be going from pull to push.  I have an injury that means an overly heavy pedal will not be do-able.

Any one used one yet ?

From what they say, the pedal weight should be less than most comparably rated clutches. So.... perhaps you shouldn't worry? The lower end of their range is supposed to be stock pedal weight or lighter, and the race end is supposed to be "surprisingly light", from what I gathered from (likely) the same vids.

Speaking to them over email at the moment, they did suggest the track model might be better for 1000hp which I imagine is covering themselves.

Getting a straight answer on which flywheel to use is proving tricky, might be easier to just call them.

Any recommendations on a pull to push conversion ?

Been looking at ORC and ATS but both state specific to their clutch.

Track version is now out for the GTR.

Got this when i asked about track version still having RDC, which is good news.

"All UniClutch’s have silent shift - even the track version. So never any chatter . Track has Quad drive noise dampening which has less angularity than dual drive RDC, but it’s stronger, and will still dampen noise in a Petrol vehicle without a dual mass flywheel . Would be a little noisier in a diesel if the DMF has been swapped out. But that is usually 4x4s and there is a 4Terrain UniClutch tuned for that type of vehicle - ie a Patrol.

Still no detail on which flywheel to use with the BNR34 nor a recommended pull to push conversion.

From Uniclutch

"For the flywheels, both the R32 and R34 GTR are very similar and share the same UniClutch fitment kit so you can purchase whichever you like. Just be aware that you would set it up according to the flywheel you buy. If using an R32 GTR flywheel, setup the UniClutch like an R32 GTR.

Yes, you will need a pull-to-push conversion. We are working on a pull type UniClutch, however, this is expected near the end of the year. The OS Giken stuff works great."

Trying to decide between these two flywheels -

Any others I should be looking at ?

would a NPC one work?

and here's their catalogue:

Just some day one info.

It is heavy, the flywheel being built in makes for a solid setup.  Will try and weigh with a flywheel to compare to a direct clutch or nismo twin.

Also the advertised torque is peak, which is not unsurprising and explains my previous conversations. So real torque is about 1000 FT/lB, plenty for a 1000hp GTR.

Considering mine is making 600ft/lb wheels, 650-80 ish fly(?) lots of room for more power :)

Any updates?

Curious to know/hear/see experience on these clutches and if it's just all hype.

Other option is just to get a run of the mill Xtreme Twin Plate organic and enjoy life and not worry about complications.

My clutch is starting to do weird shit after 3x motors and 10+ years of abuse.

When you ride it, and try to park the shit box, it sounds like a munted horse after 10 cones.

Not yet, might end up being easter now, didn't end up getting time off over xmas.

I've been seeing some concerning things online now too. Lots of people with issues, could all be setup issues but the consequences in some cases are significant.

All of the below are other peoples stories, not mine and are unverified.

Seen 2 x broken adapter ring that destroyed the gearbox as it failed.

They still do seem to have twin plate rattle despite claims of silent.

Several issues with it not holding power but some evidence of constant pressure on plate.

Setup issues with bite point.

Lot of people after 2-4 weeks swapping back to another brand.

On the positive side, I've seen a barra put down near 1000hp at the wheels and its held it.

Also everyone seems to confirm the pedal is light.

Does have me a little cautious and looking at ATS carbon clutches again .......

Do need to take it with a pinch of salt.

One of the adapter failures, they clearly had setup issues with the flywheel.

One of the slipping ones I spoke to and it was pretty clear the throwout was riding, rather than fix, just swapped to a new clutch.

These clutches are being put in anything from 5k offroad 4x4 beaters, GR yaris, 500hp commodores to 1200hp barra monsters. Bound to be some issues in some of them when they are not a simple bolt in affair due to the changes in height.

There is a lot going on in this picture and unless I did the job myself no way to tell what really happened.
