Hey guys!

We're Junsei Auto Parts from Sydney and we remake discontinued interior trim, 1:1 identical to OEM quality.

We've been bringing back discontinued interior trim for the R32 and JZA80 Supra. So far we've remade the R32 Stereo Fascia Surround and the Dash Defrosters, pics below 👇

We're here to ask what discontinued parts do you want back? Not limited to any Skyline! Drop your suggestions and we'll see what we can do!

Check out our R32 parts here: https://www.junseiautoparts.com/collections/nissan-skyline-r32

At least the hinge, if not the whole lid, for the armrest. Not the normal low height, longer armrest that was standard. The taller, shorter length one with the cupholders under it that was an uncommon option.

Like this OEM option? We can do that, we could definitely do the whole lid, OEM leather and all.

Yuh, I have that one and the hinge is broken and the vinyl on top is cracked from years of elbows. I have been meaning to put effort into doing a better job of repairing the hinge (already done once, years ago, didn't last) and retrimming the top. But new made replacements would be even better.

The hinges are very low science, basically just being folded plastic. Any effort spent working out what to do to fix it on this lid would probably (maybe only possibly, depends on whether there's any commonality) be applicable to the normal lid's hinge too.

Would you prefer a complete arm rest lid unit or a cheaper DIY kit that includes vinyl and new hinge?

For me, just a DIY kit to replace the hinge and vinyl/padding. The rest of mine is structurally sound.

Whether you would find enough takers (for even that much effort spent) to justify the work is a harder thing to estimate, as there are very few of these out in the wild.

If you were to make the whole thing, including the armrest for the top part and the cupholder that replaces the original armrest, you might be able to sell them to people who would like to upgrade. If there are enough of them, that is.

Nice work there, the fascia looks great!

Yeah that's a tricky thing to figure out. We'll do some polls to get some more info. Where should we post them?

It's worth it because you can flip it for 1400 USD on Americans that can't look up part numbers for some reason.

And they also confess that they just 3D printed them! Which makes me wonder if they will buckle in the heat worse than the originals did. Perhaps I need to hire a Chinese hacker to get the print files out of Nismo's server?

Not necessarily, completely depends on how its printed and what material they use. i cant see Nismo using a $200 FDM printer and PLA

The R32 defroster vents were definitely on our to-do list, but now that Nismo announced that they're remaking them we're not 100% sure if we should as well, they did however state that the vents will be 3D printed, which may be the reason as to why its a 3 piece design rather than the original 2 piece design.

That being said we were planning on remaking these using Injection moulding which is how the originals would've been manufactured, and they were definitely going to be priced lower than what Nismo is currently pricing their vents. As for the material we were looking at using AES plastic, which is like ABS plastic but has UV protection properties.

As of right now we'll just have to wait and see whether the Nismo vents are up to standard or not and we'll go from there.

    • Here's one I help build and tuned a decade ago, Garrett  GTX3071R Gen 1, T3 twin scroll 0.83 rear housing. Went from larger 272 cams down to smaller Tomei Poncams to help with the low end. S13 non VCT motor. Car was purpose built for the track, hence low down was the focus. Note the actual dyno chart shows lower boost, however the EBC and boost gauge showed 1.9Bar (Ignore the torque, I was young and didn't know how to set derived torque)
    • I’m doing some side developments on SR20det S13 engines, its one my hobby cars used it to compare flow capacity of some smaller size wheels. SR20det is one of another JDM legendary engines I'm sure there are plenty of SR enthusiasts on this forum, I will share results some common turbo configurations here. a quick run down of what the car is: Wide body 180sx Type X with black top engine (blue). It has: Stock bottom end Haltech 1500 ECU 5-0 motorsports trigger kit Kelford SR20DET Beehive Spring with Titanium Retainers Kelford Cams SR20DET S13 188-B 268/272 Cams G25-660 Turbocharger in T2 .64 rear housing internally gated ARP Head studs MLS head gasket 1000CC ID injectors Walbro 450L Fuel pump Front mount cooler kit JJR’s 3 inches turbo back exhaust (its too short for the 180sx it had to be extended) Pump 98 fuel Hub Dyno tune So far made 270rwkws at 22psi full boost by 4500RPM. Engine is very knock limited hence a pretty bad looking top end. From previous experiences it seems like SR20dets are happier with bigger size turbine, some thing like a GT30 would make way better top end, but on same time response is lost. It won't be a problem with S15 VCT engines. I'll be testing alternative turbine housing, turbine wheel and possibly dump pipe options for extra flow to resolve the problem and of course E85 would resolve all the issues.
    • Awesome writeup and details. Thanks for sharing the story so far. I can relate to parts of it with my previous car and some of the issues I had to deal with.
    • Wow the colour matched hard top completely transforms the car. Are there any nice front lip options for the car or is that off the table?
    • Generally yes but for some reason I've been ruthless this time around!  I might even need to do another tip run after the way I've finally been able to hit the delete button on shit I've stepped over, stepped around and tripped over for the past 10 years!
