Loose lug nuts caused outer CV grease to leak?

I noticed a week after I changed my inner CV boot (because it had been torn for quite some time) that randomly the outer CV boot had a shit ton of grease all over it but the inner one was dry. It wasn't like that when I changed the inner boot I just happened to randomly see it. I did forget to tighten the lug nuts, I only tightened it by hand so barely anything. Is it possible that somehow the grease spilled out because of that? The mechanic said it's fine and don't need to add grease but quite a lot fell out and I made the mistake of cleaning it up so they didn't see it. Curious on a 2nd opinion.

Ah ok good to know, it was probably completely random then. It is secured by a ziptie the mechanic mentioned, might be giving out.

Did you pull the cv when you changed the inner boot? If you did you might have caught the outer boot on something and tore it then. Clean it up and have a look and see if the boots damaged, you might be able to just get away with putting a new cv clamp on it.

That's the funny thing. There are no tears whatsoever on the outer boot, highly doubt I tore something. I pulled it out and put it back, no way it could have caught onto something. I was considering opening it up and adding new grease or at least to see how much grease is in there. 

I keep getting this knocking sound as I break over a bumpy road, but mechanic couldn't see it. The shaft it self seems pretty tight, tie rod has been changed as well. Lost as to what it could be. Probably is the axle, just needs a whole replacement.

Check all your suspension bushes, including subframe etc.
