As Dose said before, if u want to spend cash do it on more value for money stuff.

But if u have the cash this is cool, but it’s designed to sit on top of the RB25 lower shell

You only need to go bigger if you have more boost pre throttle than post throttle when at WOT.

68 or 74mm DBW is more than sufficient for most people.

Would a 74mm be fine for a Neo 25, 98 fueled 300wkw or 68 would be more appropriate?

Well, tell me how I can make around the 500-600hp mark with a T3 top Mount turbo if my Aeroflow 6262 .84 T4 is too big as I was going to build it for 5-600 and flex fuel and stages like boost Lvl 1 - 15 psi boost lvl 2- 20 psi boost lvl 3 27-30 psi for example

I'm running a greddy style plenum with stock throttle body on my rb30 (rb25 series 2 head) stagea, it is making 400kw through that.

There are plenty of ways to spend money on the car, you don't need to change the intake you have for 600hp

74mm would be good, however you will find you will need to gently ramp in the pedal vs. throttle so it feels smooth and linear (not like those silly carb V8s where you touch the throttle 1mm and the car wants to fry tyres).

This is how mine is dialled in with a 74mm DBW TB, I wanted 68mm but Plazmaman couldn't weld a 68mm flange onto the plenum.

You said you want 373kW to 447kW, you don't need a 62mm turbo to do that, that turbo can spin over 500kW+

Okay I must of got my letters wrong instead of hp  I’d like to make 450-600kw i know it’s quite easy to make it on an RB I already got the turbo for free so it’s brand new the aeroflow 62 .84 T51r mod already done T4 flange can I change it to a t3

 

but please tell me how

Is there a reason why you want close to 600kW in a R32 GTS-t?

Have you thought about suspension work, subframe changes (from a newer car, offsetting it), diff choice, brakes, gearbox?

There's a high chance you're running a RB20DET gearbox which will not like close to 600kW being sent through it.

Also a 6262 won't get you close to 600kW.

I think way too many people get caught up in the whole bigger TB for more power, but that's only if it becomes a restriction.

In a FI environment, the TB size is not as sensitive, where as in a NA environment, you find with the throttle at 100% and if the plenum still registers a vacuum, then your TB is undersized and requires to be upgraded.

    • Nah, it's not the reduced knock margin. It is a direct mechanical effect of having to initiate the combustion earlier, while the piston is still rising, which starts to exert combustion pressure on the rising piston earlier, making the rest of the engine work harder to finish driving the piston up to TDC where the combustion pressure stops being a negative and starts being a positive. Your modern engine that only needs ~10° to make MBT doesn't waste the other 10 or so degrees of crank rotation. That's almost all of it. The difference in knock margin might go either way. Remember that modern engines to which you are currently comparing the long tractor engine (the RB) are now running super high compression, direct injection, tricky cam control and maybe even cylinder pressure sensors. You're not comparing apples with other fruit. It's apples and sea weed, or some other evolutionarily primitive vegetation. And remember, squish only really comes into play at the very end of the stroke. It certainly does good things, but it is not the biggest contributor to what's going on. It is quite possibly much less important in 4 valve head than 2 valvers also, because there is so much less squish available to a 4 valve anyway.
    • Food for thought, a longer stroke motor would need less ignition timing vs. a shorter stroke motor requiring more ignition timing.
    • Thanks Duncan, HART is only 10 mins from me (I did my bike license there), it'd be awesome if it ran these types of things.  Sutton Road does look good and they take fewer cars than SMSP which is good.  Surely you have enough land to lay a few million tonnes of concrete and some sprinklers D? 
    • I thought an engine that needs more ignition timing to make power is going to result in less power due to reduced knock margin? More time for the combustion to propagate -> more time for it to heat up the rest of the mix to detonation.
    • DCS, war thunder, IL2 - mostly flight sim games.
