Am wondering what the difference between the 2 is. My turbo seal has blown and an r34 turbo is one of the items in the cart. What would be the advantages of going for an r34 neo turbo as appose to another r33 series 1 turbo? I heard the r34 turbos have a plastic front wheel?? And ceramic exhaust wheel? Also heard the r34 turbo is bigger in size than a hiflow r33 turbo can anyone confirm this rumour? Any help on this matter would be great

If your car is a series 2 R33 then they are pretty much identical. The late R33 & R34 turbs both have a plastic (nylon or similar I believe) compressor wheel & a ceramic exhaust wheel, where as the R32 (lower flow) & early (series 1) R33 both have steel compressor wheels & ceramic exhaust wheels.

The plastic compressor on the later turbos was to aid spoolup due to the lower weight/inertia of the plastic compared to the steel.

All have will have the same problems with to much heat/boost ie they'll spit the ceramic exhaust wheel into the cat.

I have an R34 turbs on around 12psi & my biggest prob seems to be spark/mixtures

.

oh true, yea i had an idea about the plastic type front wheel minimising spool characteristics, but as for the size well was unsure, mine is a series 1 r33, so an r34 turbo maybe slighty larger but im thinking its not going to make a difference though.

oh ok, well regardless, the r34 turbo that im getting is coming in the package deal along with everything else, my turbo has blown an oil seal so it need replacing anyway, the engine is going to be run in for a fair while and not flogged so i can keep my licence so the turbo doesnt have to perform wonders anyhow. Just drive me from A to B. I dont want to lose my licence again
