Farewell Neil.....hope the tracks are awesome where you are going

Really sad news to hear!!

I’ve scheduled a post on our SAU FB and Insta for later this morning, which I hope will do him justice!! I tried fitting in some quotes from you all into the post, but stupid FB and Insta have a character limit…

Neil meant a great deal to many people… I remember emailing with him early in my tenure in the committee to get him his (at the time) new Life Member card… he was pretty chuffed - I could tell he loved SAU and it would be from the memories made with all of you…

Rest in Peace Neil!! You’ll be dearly missed!!

This is really sad news to hear and it has taken me a few days to come to grips with the loss of Neil.

Neil was very straight forward and I have always respected his honesty and how he called it how it was.

He was a very knowledgeable man and was always available to provide advice when you needed help to solve a problem because he would have encountered the same issue in the past and could explain how he solved it.

Neil will be missed by many members of the Skyline family.

Damn...

My only interaction with Neil was my shitbox spraying petrol all over him during an SMSP East track day (I was in front of his Radical during an out lap, with a full tank, petrol was spraying out of the overflow valve). He was super chill about it. But that left a lasting impression on me.

Rest in peace mate.

Hey guys
I don't visit the forums anymore so not even sure how I found this thread but here it is, what a shock.
I'm so glad Neil and Mel got out of Sydney and had some relaxing fun time before this happened.
Neil is a great bloke and will be sadly missed.

    • these guys recommended to me and supplied custom 4 inch mufflers, couldn't be happier. They will spec a muffler to your preferred level of sound and know RB's well.  https://spmufflers.com.au/
    • Yeah this used to happen to me every year and a quick call would at least raise the agreed value back up / reduce the premium, but usually both.    That said for the first time on the renewal this year our agreed values went up or stayed the same over the fleet and the premium came down so that was a nice surprise.
    • I don't even go that hard core. I just say "how do you expect me to stay, when you increase my premium, and reduce the value of the car?"   Then play a game of shut the f**k up. Most of the time it's a computer that did the adjustment, and the people will happily change it around for you.
    • You just say that the premium increase seems particularly excessive (no pun intended) and that the value decrease seems unwarranted. You say that it's not 2005 any more, and that these days Skylines are generally owned and insured only by those that have demonstrated an ability to keep them in one piece across decades, and are therefore not the horrible risk that used to be assumed. etc.
    • Have a look at JS Performance Garage, just did a bit of work on a 32 GTR.
