Hello there, have tried posting my problem in the transmission section but no luck.

My power steering pump seal went, PS fluid everywhere. Mechanic fixed the PS pump, now I have a metal grinding noise in 4th gear at 1500 - 1800 rpm under light throttle (could be a coincidence) Rear diff rebuilt, pulled the 4WD fuse, still no luck, seems to be coming from middle of car? Unable to get a recording of the noise unfortunately. Had some mechanics who work on race cars spend some time trying to track it down but they couldn’t figure it out.

Any help would be appreciated.

You didn't have "no luck". No-one is going to be able to identify the very random problem that you have. You are going to have to do actual diagnostic work.

Put a go pro under it and go for a drive. Run it on the dyno. Tape a microphone under the car in various locations until you get an increase in volume. Etc.

not a gtr though, a ford falcon wagon, but had a light metal rattle sound on light throttle aswell, sounded like it was coming from the motor/trans. Turned out to be the starter not retracting back properly and just freeplaying. Could be it? May not. Just thought i'd share.
