Oil Gallery Gaskets.

Hey peeps,

do these gaskets fail on every car?

How many kms is typical for them to fail?

Do you just fit oem gaskets (ready to fail again?)

Or is there an improved "performance" gasket available?

How do you know if they fail (lower oil pressure than normal?)

I'm looking to buy a G37 GT Infinity.

There was a thread a couple of years ago, seems the consensus is, it's a common fault, but no guarantee you will see the issue.

If you are buying an Infiniti, then it will be 2012 or newer as that is when they were sold in Australia, I am fairly sure they used a different gasket by then, so you shouldn't be seeing this issue.
If you are buying an earlier V36 Skyline (370GT), then it could still be affected.

Thanks for that, looking at a 2012 G37 GT with 70000kms.

So hopefully has the upgrade gaskets.
