Maxxecu plug&play to rb20det r32?

Hello, im going for maxxecu to my r32 gtst. And maxxecu sells maxxecu->oem harness adaptor for rb25/rb26. 
 

can this adaptor be used for rb20? And if so, what modifications are needed?

I've never used it, but yes R32/R33 GTST and R32/33/34 GTR have similar ECU pinouts so it should be possible. Their doco states a few things including AFM deleted and replaced by MAP that you need to add, no knock sensors (actually lots missing on their "street" ECU), narrow O2 replaced with their wide o2 etc

Also worth noting that both Link and Haltech recommend replacing the factory intake air temp sensor with a better one as air temp is critical to accurate air calculations with a MAP. I think both r32/r33 GTST need the intake air temp sensor added. MaxxECU just say it is "optional" to have the sensor at all which I think is dangerous.

Seeing as they don't have one at all, yes, must be added.

I think that MaxxECU is one ECU that I would not consider using. There is no shortage of good choices, so why use something that appears to not be a good choice. I mean, shit - I'd use a Speeduino before I used the Maxx.

I've personally heard nothing but good things about them. With Haltech using the end user as beta testers and the sheer amount of firmware bugs that have been coming out the last year; If I could do it all over again, Maxx would of been an option.

Per Duncan's post, Street version has no VCT, doesn't do AC, DOESN'T HAVE KNOCK SENSORS. OK, so you can use the higher end ECUs to claw those things back. But.... if I'm going aftermarket ECU, I'm not using a cable throttle. And...where is that? Um...

I agree their STREET is limited in features, but both their RACE and PRO models have everything you could possibly need (I.E Knock, Built in EGT, Built in Wideband, Dual DBW, etc.) It's also cheaper in comparison with anything Haltech has to offer and more importantly from what I hear it actually works well. 

I'm a little bias these days as Haltech has really turned into a pile of poop lately.. I don't know what's happening with their firmware team but I'm thinking it's outsourced and their cutting costs. There's always massive bugs, they're not doing any testing, there's no revision control (I.E They acknowledged a few months back that they accidently released an unfinished firmware). It feels like they're being run by bean counters vs actual software & electrical engineers. They seem to be to busy releasing new products as opposed to fixing software issues. As of 2-3 weeks ago they started a beta program to presumably op the rest of the end users out of unwillingly testing firmware's. I'm happy they're starting to listen to all the complaints. Hopefully it gets better fast.

I'm not defending Haltech. They had some golden years, but their history of problem products goes back a loooong time before that and now. My bro-in-law swore off them 15 years ago. Same stuff. Firmware bugs, patchy tech support complete with total ignorance of what was going on.

Doesn't mean that there are not 5 or 6 other excellent options - most of which were also born in Australia.
