Hi all,

I have bought a JDM R35 at auction in Japan.  This is my second JDM GTR after owning one back in 2009.  I have made a couple of videos that may interest some forum members.  One is collecting the GTR from the compliance shop (and seeing it for the first time) and another on the process of buying and importing a car from Japan.  I'm new to this and would appreciate your thoughts, as well as a subscribe!

Hey mate, nice work on the car.

Just a quick note, people generally don't like it when you use the forums to dump and run to advertise your YouTube content. If you're gonna stick around and join in the conversation then great, but if not this might not be the best place for you.

Hi all,

I have been a member here for years and am back to owning an R35.  It's my car and thought members of the community might enjoy sharing my journey.  I am definitely here to join the conversation.  If sharing this content isn't appropriate or it belongs somewhere else, I am happy to have it deleted or moved...

All Christian was saying is that if your OP here was to dump youtube content to increase views and adsense revenue, then we take a dim view to being used like that. It's just that the apparent mode of operation matches the mode described by Christian and used by others in just the recent past.

If you're hanging around and contributing, then no foul. You can be a grumpy old man with the rest of us.

It may well be better suited to the importing section - but that's for you an Christian to think about (more than me to think about, anyway).

I can be grumpy!  After owning one of the first GTRs in the country, I was bitten by the nostalgia bug and started the hunt for a GTR again.  While I could have bought a car locally, I wanted to experience the search for a car in Japan and bidding at auction.  The above videos document my experience to date and hope forum members find them interesting and informative.  I was after a low mileage, completely stock car in the launch colour and am pretty stoked with what I got!

Here are a few photos.  The car is auction grade 4.5B and a genuine 1 owner car, as far as I can tell...  It has a full service history with only 31,000km in it.  I'd love to put a midpipe and tune on it but I am thinking that I'll retain its originality.

Hey mate, I hope no offence was taken from my post. We've had a few people dump and run with their yt content and then just don't bother replying to people asking questions. It becomes quickly apparent that they have no intention of actually joining the conversation and just want views.

The car looks great. I bet it's a pretty satisfying drive after getting the damn thing here!

All good!  The wait from purchase day to delivery day was about 3 months, but it felt like an eternity!  It's interesting driving a 35 again after over a decade away.  In some respects, it is still surprisingly impressive but in other ways, feels quite dated.  e.g. the gearbox back in the day was a revelation, but by today's standards isn't as impressive.  I'll try to make a driving impressions video.

Boy, they look good in silver.

With so low kms, I'd try and keep it stock.

Then I would fail.
