I tried to search and couldn't find any previous thread. Sorry in advance if this has been talked about before.

I'm in the process of replacing hoses on my R33 GTS25-T and came across the hose that runs to the fuel flow regulator(pretty sure that what it is??). The little thing above the fuel filter. It looks to have restrictors(yellow band on the hose). Do I need to replace this for a hose with restrictors? Will replacing with a hose with no restrictors have any positive on negative effects?

Couldn't work out how to attach photos sorry.

I really doubt there's a restrictor. Most likely it's just marked so you orient the hose if there's something special about it like sheathing positioned in a specific area to avoid rubbing a hole into it. Or they don't want you to mix up which hose goes where. The one with the filter goes to the fuel rail, then the regulator. Then on the way back it goes through the damper. If there was a restrictor on the damper line it would artificially raise fuel pressure and reduce the ability of the FPR to actually regulate pressure.

If I had to guess, he is calling the fuel pulse damper a restrictor?

Also I don't think you can post photos till you've got 10 posts under your belt.

Yeah, that's what he's referring to as far as I can tell. His profile picture shows what he's talking about. Two fuel hoses at the front of the manifold but it's terribly zoomed in.

I think you guys are right. The only reason I thought it was a restrictor was I had seen the same yellow band on the r32 boost restrictor.

Will just replace with a standard fuel hose.

Thank you for your speedy replies. I'm sure I'll have many other silly questions.

Are you going to delete the stock damper or are you just replacing the fuel lines and keeping the stock damper?

There are also options for sexy ones if the stock one is too ugly for you lol -

So sexy.

Only reason I started replacing hoses was I went for a short drive to the shop the other day and finished shopping and started the car and started to drive off and could see a big trail of fuel in the rear view mirror.

Parked up and found the bottom hose to the fuel filter had busted. Lucky I was near a car part store and was able to get a replacement hose and back on the road.

But got me thinking I had owned that car for around 20 years and was all original fuel hoses so probably time to replace all of the fuel hoses.

Was pretty lucky it went where it did.
