Was just shopping today and I realised I need coolant. A few questions first.

The chemical Ethylene Glycol is present in all coolants in various concentrations. Older type cars (pre 1990) need only 60g/L. They have a standard called Type B.

Newer cars need a higher concentrate of around 500g/L. Type A

Why is this so?

The concentrate for Type A's varied. Does anyone know which mix is best to use?
