Neither will the cops. Hell, they even let L-platers drive around in HSV Senators (coz there is 'technically' a fully licenced driver in charge - but not in control - of the vehicle). Its absolute BS, if it doesn't raise money, its not good for road safety.
Erm: WRONG
A stock R33 GTST will NOT make 150kw at the wheels

look at the factory kw figure 187 do the maths urself. I am indeed right. mine made 155 at the wheels with an exhaust......but thats neither here nor there.....

How can you say it is fine? 125kw per tonne a skyline is calculated using 1400 or 1.4 tonne......how much over is 187kw on a car weighing 1400kg????

erm: Right

akeenan: Might be time to do more homework champ, an R33 GTST will NOT make 150kw at the wheels straight out of the box untouched.

A GTST with a turbo back exhaust/pod etc will be making around that power.

FACT

rwkw of an R33 GTST stock is closer to 130kw.

i used the figure "around" 150kw i didnt say is was exactly 150kw at the wheels. This around figure was generated from the knowledge I have of 3 r33's all with aftermarket exhausts and all were around 150kw on different dynos...but that wasnt the argument.....the argument was the fact that technically and r33 is illegal for a plater to drive according to the factory power stats!....

I work for VicRoads and believe me, they will register anything that is roadworthy. It is not up to them to police who is driving what. That is for the cops to do. For all they know, you could be putting it in your name for your old man to drive or something like that.

I tried to find the list that says what cars a P plater cannot drive, but there is no link to it on the VicRoads website.

But as it has been said, 125kw per tonne is the limit.
