V8SkylineMAN --> Yep only drops ones and the sorts itself out or stalls, this happens eveytime I slow down, and change gears down. If I dont keep the revs up it will go to 0 then back to one. But yer it sorts itself out after going to 0, but its a pain and the power steering gets heavey as its about to turn off but then comes good.

Definately not your idle circuit then....I would also think that it is your bov's......try taking them apart and giving them a bit of WD-40 or summing....the plungers MAY be slow to respond? due to lack of lube.....but also put your stockers back on...or buy some more stockers

Hey

I restarted the car later that night when it was just warm, and let it idle for 10-15min or so and the oil gauge sat on 2. When it was on 0 it would slowly climb when i reved it and moved a bit but then it droped back to 0, after the traffic cleared and I got going it was ok, when I came to a stop again it sat on 1 and didnt go to 0 again.

I didnt hear and werid sounds from the engine or anything.

My Revs are a diff matter I think, car idles at 1k and drives normal etc, when I slow down tho the revs dont stop at 1k again it goes all the way to 0 batt light flashers and then it comes back up to 1k again, somethimes it stalls. I am told this matter is something to do with the BOVs. Never use to happen and I was running 2 hks bovs and the stock pair (4 BOVs, Stocks sealed) I removed the stock ones as I was told it was for the best and now the revs do that. Pain in the ass it is, but thats not my may concern atm, the oil presure is and im pritty sure its the sender.

Thanks

I also have a 32 gtr, an have the same problem... or should i say had the same problem until my my engine died !!!! :)

It could be the guage... iv also heard that the oil pump bolts can come loose

If i had my time again i wouldn't of put it down to the gauge just in case, an put a full mechanical gauge on it !!!

As iv just found out that gtr engines are F*#ken dear to rebuild !!!!!! :)

Like everyone else i've experienced this myself recently. R33 gts-t.

Changed my oil a week ago, same stuff Motul 4100 but i overfilled it a bit and i changed oil filter from a cheap brand to a ryco one. I've used same oil before and i never had a problem.

Only started happening after my last oil change.

It wouldn't have anything to do with the oil being overfilled? (i don't think so)

Mite be the ryco filter..but its a good brand so once again i doubt that would be the culprit.

It also only happens after i've been pushing it for a while. Gauge drops to almost 0. Pain in the ass! and scary.

Go figure. :)

your idle is playing up because there is a leak in your vacum line that goes to the top of your bovs.

If the bovs were stuffed and the piston inside didn't seal you would have the equivilant of a leak. If they are new its not the bovs, more likely one of the vacum hose's (as there are two one from each turbo and for each bov) has a small hole in it, or is not connected properly.

The oil issue is an problem (mostly likely) with the guage, all the nissan electrical ones play up at some point, mine is playing up atm as well. Get a cheep mechanical one installed under the bonnet so you can see if you have pressure when the other fails.

The oil "light" is separate form the guage and if it is on.... you have no oil pressue (pump) or no oil, STOP your car, check oil and walk. It is very rare to have the light fail by comming on. and its bad if its on. :headspin:

come on, In what way does the water system (radiator etc) effect the oil pressure? thats just silly.

and you do realise that the "engine" oil light/guage is not connected to the power steering oil? as its a completly seperate system and is completly different oil, not even the same colour.

but keep checking it, and you might want to watch the steering oil level as your wheel might :flamed: stop spinning

My 1992 r32 GTR did exactly the same thing one night.

The oil px guage was really low and ended up going to zero. It would only rise if i revved it. Weird thing is it came good next day. Checked wiring to oil px sender(gave it a wiggle). Only thing I can explain is a bit of crap got stuck in the orifice of the oil px sender. It cleared itself out I guess. Due for an oil change soon anyway(every 5000k).
