I'm only considering it because I've got an exhaust cam wheel, and will be running 15 psi after the tune. I used to run 15psi with the factory ECU, but the PowerFC at the same boost maxes out my injectors and AFM. So I'm running at 11psi until I get it tuned.

Anyway I'll see what the mechanic has to say when I take the car in. At least now I know I have some room to experiment.

I don't see much of an advantage of increasing the red-line to 7500rpm, if your only running 15psi max. by the time your turbo hits 6700 its all ready running out of steam, unless your planning on running a bigger turbo with 20+psi, then it would be worth your while.

Paul, SteveSST - what Cams do you use ? What exhaust ? Mine drops off slightly at about 7000 - but would love it to keep going .

hey brendon met u yesterday im steve...its nice to see u makin good use of the dyno day with up to date references :headspin: :headspin:

i was amazed this was commented earlier with the car ur referring to

Steve SST quoted "This is for those that think that RB25s dont make a shit load of power and high revs on stock cams and heads.Check it out."

so i take it the motor beens untouched

Pauls motor has a stock head and cams but RB26 rods Arias pistons and a Greddy intake manifold and an R32 GTR intercooler GT30 turbo and Plugin Wolf and GTR injectors.

Pauls car has 22psi thru the mid range bit is turned down to 18psi thru the top as the fuel pump was to small to feed the top end.It now has an 044 pump and cams on the way.

The GT30 should not get to 500rwhp but we will try and upgrade if it can't.

is it sydney or are we just suckers.......... gtr injectors are rated in the 400cc's i think...wouldnt they max out??? at that sort of power... cause most of the tuners in sydney reckon they do and reccomend something big? i thought the motor had stock rb25 rods...or are u refering to a different car in regards to rb25 rod limits :(

My 550cc sards are at 90% (no FP reg). I have very similar setup to Paul. HKS3040, HKS manifold, Arias Pistons, Stronger rods, Ported head, 256/9 Tomei cams, Trust/Greddy plenum, Q45 Thtl Bdy, Kings bearings, Redline Oil, oil cooler, Bosche pump, Big Bar & Plate cooler, 90 mm exhaust, Power FC, 21 PSI e-boost (more boost doesn't make a difference). Maybe I have hit the limit for the compressor ?

Pauls car went thru a big bash session last year when it went 411rwhp on RB25 injectors with big pump and ajustable reg but went on and proved its power at other dyno comps and a dyno run supervised by dyno dynamics. We often run GTR injectors to 450+rwhp with plug in Wolfs.

Pauls car needs to come down to Melbourne or Sydney and try pull those numbers i recon.

What elevation above sea level is ur factory?? :D

    • 49719 is the cooler loop. Right at the front, LHS of that diagram. Return line from rack (LP side) goes to cooler loop on RHS front of car, then back under engine and returns to bottom of tank. 49717M is feed from tank to pump. HP line out of pump is thick rubber, followed by the hard line that runs down to crossmember and runs in parallel (but opposite flow direction) to the LP return line. Nothing goes anywhere near the firewall or interior of car. The closest they get to that is the connections on the rack.
    • Thanks, plan is to drain all fluid tomorrow and do smoke test to find out the leak.   Appreciate your help and want to understand how the system work. So cooling is achieved by the long loop not any rad? The diagram seems to suggest it connects to somewhere inside the cabin and I thought that is a cooler inside firewall. If you look at the diagram it seems to show it connects to something inside firewall. I tried chasing it but not easy unless I take loads off   i am confident pump is good as fluid goes in and it gets soft( steering) but as soon as I turn engine off , loads of bubble come to surface and overflow. When engine is on , fluid level is below minimum but when off it shoots off and thinking it is sucking air in. I suspect aluminium pipe may have a crack line or whole   smoke test with no fluid should be a good start and if needed will remove the pump   In addition, the one going under the engine bay is high pressure line and one directly connecting from pump to resorvoir is return/ low pressure?   finally I searched and suggestion is to use dexron 2 but that is discontinued so bought dexron 3 as all research suggest it is compatible and shouldn’t cause any issues/ blow seals. I bought two liter of dexron 3 motul atf
    • Don't worry about. Just don't try to drive hard enough to make boost and you'll be fine.
    • Yes. This has already been said. It is a loop of hardline in front of the radiator. Because.... the pump is on the LHS and the steering rack hydraulic connections are where they always are on a RHD steering rack....on the RHS. The high pressure line goes down under the engine, along the crossmember, like it does on all Skylines. Don't just throw expensive braided hoses/other kits at it. Work out what is wrong and fix that.
    • Still got the afm on the intake, clamps are shut tight, only loose hose is the one that goes from the j pipe towards the IACV, since it's next to impossible to find a factory hose and the barbs are different sizes (I'm still using clamps on this hose to try and help it seal on the iacv side) I've ordered parts to make up the hotside of the intercooler pipes, I'll plumb it in and see what happens in a few days I suppose The turbo's internally gated, can I just unscrew the tension rod to let the gate open?
