It must be something recent because there are lots of R32's without it that must have been complianced before they changed the regulations. It sucks that you have to install the side indicators on the panel because there are plenty of factory cars that were sold in Australia without them, look at the 89 corolla or magna for example. What I don't get is that the front assembly light is alredy designed with a lump on the corner acting as the side idicator. It goes the same with the corolla and magna, the main front indicator assembly has a litlly lump in the corner of it, I guess that was a design trend back in 1989.

i cant recall ever seeing a r32 with side indicators, so im hoping and praying (and im not a religious man) that i dont need them ;)

two images of mine, without and with.

i had to have mine added for compliance over 2 years ago, the guy said that was the worst part about compliancing them because he had to cut into the panels :P

in the next few months ill be getting panels for it without the indicators.. nice and clean.

the ones that dont have them are personal imports. maybe 15yr cars too, i dont know. but all others need them.

i think smaller are better. mine arent that bad but would prefer without. i think the key is that they line up with the GT badge.

mine are factory 32 GTR repeaters, and line up with the GT badge :(

Got my brother's 32 complianced a month ago, and was told side indicators weren't required anymore. Glad too because I didn't want them cutting into the side of the car.

Same deal with dash dimmer too, no longer a requirement.

    • Reviving an old thread, I reckon my stagea is starting to slip. Car usually gets parked on a hill, narrow driveway so cant go up the driveway smoothly, anyhows, lately first gear feels "sluggish"? Not responsive. Feels like I gotta run the engine more than usual to get off the line...  Any recommendations for transmission servicing in Sydney? Or possibly just an excuse to go manual ?
    • Well, moulded carpets should fit well if the buck they use is the right shape. The finish is then just a case of stiching the trim around the edges. Shuoldn't be too hard to get it right. Back in the day, replacement carpets were all "fitted", in that they were stitched together, with cuts and slices taken out to make them form the shapes. Many more opportunities to get it wrong, hence all the concern over good vendors and bad vendors.
