I've got a HKS series III evc, its in the usual place on the steering column between the wheel and the dash.

Its a pain having to reach to it and switch from high to low boost etc.

Has anybody?, can anybody give me an idea on how to rewire it and install a steering wheel mounted switch?.

Should have enough wire to move it to somewhere more useful. If not, shouldn't be hard to add more.

As for a steering wheel switch, you just need a on/off type switch and to join it to one of the 2 wire plugs on the back of the EVC (i forget which one of the 2)

When they are connected it will set off pass mode.

No, not quite that simple, you need a sender unit and a reciever unit, remember that the steering wheel spins, so a wire connection is not viable.

I don't know if you could use a system similar to the horn, which uses rotating contacts???

But even if you could, somebody would have to make it.

What system do other cars and the R34 use for steering wheel controls such as stereo, tiptronic gearshift etc

I'm really trying to find out if anybody has already done it, and if so, what did they use?
