Hi Guys,

At the moment I have a blitz LM

cooler, boch 044 pump, exedy organic clutch, pod, bleed valve, re-mapped ecu

and its currently making

158.8rw kw's on (13psi) although Im starting to become bored and would like

to add another 90 odd kw's to that.

Im not sure on what turbo to buy, something responsive, good for a daily

driver and able to make good power at round 16psi.

I was advised by www.horsepowerinabox.com to go for the Garrett GT28 as viewed on the website.

What do you guys think of that turbo?

Has anyone bought one or know anyone that has bought one?

Also it a T25 flange, is that bad to get an adapter for a smaller flange?

thanks

Mark

hey mate :P

GT28 is seems to be mainly targetted towards the SR20's ..especially seeing as its got a T25 flange.. but seeing as the RB20DET is 2L might suit fairly well and would be responsive.

But I think the power rating is low 200's. If you want another 90rwkw you'd probably want something a bit larger

You did not mention exhaust or dump. If you have not done these then that would be your cost effective next step.

You dont want to loose too much response by going too big in the turbo either with the RB20. I have rebuilt mine to T4/T3 for about $1500 (ATP Melb.) but could not get to 180Kw on dyno. But I am leaving it in there and improving everything else until the turbo is the last thing stopping me to get 250AWKw :P

i have a gt28 440hp bb on my rb 20 makes good useable power after 3500 makes 226 rwkw on 18 psi still t25 flange also..... i would concider selling my complete bolt on rb20detup if u were in the market turbo has done about 4000km since new...

Hey...got a dyno print out you can post up?

dude,

here's a 350hp GT25 (446179-0031) for you;

http://board.performanceforums.com/forums/...readid=67178962

although if you'd like more power you'll need to go for the next one up, i.e., 446179-0032 which has a larger compressor wheel, hence more air-flow.

http://www.turbofast.com.au/GTseries.html

PM me as a friend might have one of these for sale.

dude,

here are the specs of the HKS GT-RS turbo

http://www.hks-power.co.jp/products/turbo/...rs/ac_gtrs.html

and before u start jumping up and down about the power, take into account the mods that were down to the SR20 in test.

also, if u look carefully enough, you'll see that the HKS GT-RS has the same 'GT35' wheel as the Garrett GT25 (-32), although it has a smaller 51.2mm inducer (hence, 52-trim).

sounds interesting

thanks for the info rs500!

I am not yet ready to purchase although in the next 3-5 months i will be, and I just want to find out what will be the very best for my needs without just purchasing then regreting.

Ofcourse at the time i am going to do injectors, fuel reg and possibly a wolf 3d or power fc through greenline.

I want to have 200ish kw's on lower boost like 10psi and possibly 250kw's at high boost.

I was even considering the HKS 2535. New from greenline they are $2,200.

I cant believe your mate is only making 200kw's with the 2530, there are heaps of people on the forums that have claimed 220 and even 230 (at 1.2bar) with the rb20 & minimal mods.

Different engine, different tune, different engine/diff/transmission oil, different dyno, boost read before / after intercooler different air temps etc etc. A dyno figure gives you a number, best look at what percentage increase over your original figures

just get a GT-RS turbo on it. rated at 400ps and with response similar to a 2535 you should get a nice power curve, and no one else has done it yet.

ive got a 2530 on my RB20 and its great, but i want to make a little more top end. response and midrange is fantastic, but i would like that little bit of extra pull up top.

Considering my turbo knowledge is pretty much nothing still, what turbo would you be looking at to get that top end pull? As thats what Im after atm, and Im HOPEING with the extra weight of the cefiro it might help kill a bit of the lag (although would probabaly be worse off boost/down low)
