Hi ppl,

I’m in need of some urgent help…

I’ve sold the skyline, so I thought I’d be nice and go and put some fuel in it for the buyer… anyway turns out that I get defected on the way to the servo for a boost gauge. I pulled the gauge out and took it to a local workshop to get the defect cleared, then as I was driving home to put the gauge in I accidentally touched both of the power wires (the wires that connect to the bulb in the gauge) with my fingers. Immediately this shut off all of the dash lights. I noticed that all the warning lights still work (hazards, handbrake, engine, etc…) the only lights that don’t work are the instrument lights that illuminate the speedo and other gauges.

I thought it may have been a fuse, but I have pulled out the associated fuses (used the fuse chart found here http://www.overflow.250x.com/tips.htm) and replaced them with new ones, but the dash is still not working.

I thought that it may have blown the dimmer, so I have cut the wires going to the dimmer and joined them together.. still nothing.

Next, I cut the wires going to the boost gauge, still nothing.

Does anyone have any suggestions?? The bloke is supposed to be coming later tonight to pick up the car and I would really like to have the problem fixed by then. Any help would be hugely appreciated.

Ha... No probs mate... That's what these forum's are for...

Glad it's sorted...

Where should I send the invoice? ;)

is there any other problems that could cause this because my indicators and cluster lights have stoped working but the park brake and all the little signs on the dash still work? thanks
