I've just changed the spark plugs and coil packs (workshop said was fine) wat else can cuz it to misfire? I've reset the ecu after putting the plugs in and still missing @ stand still and @ low revs. Didnt go pass 3000rpm since the car was struggling. HELP!

What type of Spark Plugs are in the car? And also what size gap have they been set at. I know most skylines have a miss-fire problem with plugs that are set at a gap bigger then .7 - .8.

Also make sure no vacum hoses have come off or any wires / plugs have come out of the sensors through out the motor.

Could possibly be your Crank Angel sensor if your plugs and coils check out fine, or could even be your fuel pump. What type of miss is it, a intermitent miss or happens the same all day every day ?

spark plugs - just the off the shelves one from autobarn. brand is NGK Iridium Plugs. All hoses and plugs are all in ... the missing is pretty much VERY VERY rough idling. Happens the minute i turn on the car. Drove it a few km's and it was just as horrible. Didnt go pass 3000rpm. I've had a fuel pump gone .. but there was no whining sound. Car was driving PERFECT ... this happen overnight. From perfect to @#*&!

What do i do to check my crank angel sensor and can i retune my base timing myself - w/o workshop assistance?

by any chance did u wash ur car and try to wash ur engine bay??? It happened to me once and found out that water leaked through the engine into the coil packs.. i couldnt go past 3k rpm cause it was running so rough...

It may be as simple as that?!!? Same thing with, running fine one day and then the next after i washed my car it was all fkd up..

hope that helped...

Rob..

My car did this last Friday, turned out to be a dodgy plug on the coil pack harness...you could literally put your finger on the coil-pack plug and it would run fine, take you finger off the plug and it'd run on 5 cylinders (rough)

Try that out.
