Dumping used engine oil?

A mate of mine used to dump his straight into the storm water drain in his street. And then he got upset at his neighbour for dobbing him in to the epa. He had no idea he was doing anything wrong. I absolutely pissed myself when i heard this.

personally i just dump it in the garden in an empty spot.. garden doesn't actually seem to mind or kill anything off and about 2 weeks later you wouldn't even notice. Its actually just minerals and dead plant matter when it comes down to it anyway

do what i do - place the used oil in an open container, such as a large ice cream tub. then place the tub on the ground near the back door. then let your new puppy go for a wander around the backyard...

you wanna try something funny, take all your used oil and your mates oil and fill it in a 20l drum, then go to your nearest beach in summer and dig a hole and fill it up, and sit around and wait for someone to come and suntan on the beach,( instant black tan). never tried it personally
