Ok,

I have received no word back as yet from the HSV Club. Which means one of 3 things.

1. Its full and they cbf replying to me.

2. They are waiting until after the cut-off date for the cheap rates to reply so that they can try and make us pay more (I'm not paying $200)

3. They are scared we are going to kick their V8 asses and so don't want us there.

So forget the HSV day unfortunately. If we really want to eat some HSV's we should get on the ball early and get to Sandown next month. One thing I was thinking is that Phillip Island whilst really fast pretty much sucks for passing except on the straight and into turn 4. Sandown is a much better place for a Super Sprint set-up that the HSV Club do at the end.

Anyways....

So the next question is - what about the MSCA on Sat 18th? We have to decide today. I'm still keen if someone else is going to tag along. I can get 1 extra non NDSOC member along too.

that extra person is me  can you bring a for on Thursday? I'm a bit technology challenged down here :(

So chris - your keen for this coming MSCA yeah? If so sweet - will send in my form today.

Yeah i'm keen. Did you send your form off today? I will send mine tomorrow (Wednesday) if your definatly in.

Chris - yep sent my form in today. Duncan - I have also sent a form in for you as it has to be in by tomorrow (stupid 10 day rule).

Another topic - the entry forms for the Maserati Club are now available. If we are going to do this we should get our forms in ASAP!

Forms available here:

No denhan - the year one is $83 or whatever it is. When you fill in the form there is a slip on the back that is valid for 30 days - this covers you until your real CAMS license comes in the mail.

If you come down to the meet on Sunday I can sign you up for a CAMS license.

I'll be out with u lads soon enough.  Nearly back on the road...defect nearly cleared :) so hopefully in the next 4 wks i'll be back on the road after a long vacation in the garage

Its about time another 32 GTST joined in on the shaninigans, drifto, FAT32 and me are about the only guys i have ever seen out there

This shall be a Track Day of extraodinary magnitude....you have my gratitude

...oh, and if i cant give my target time a nudge, my boss is coming to have a bash in my car, so at least ill know what time the car is capable of

Incase you guys didn't know yet the results from the PIARC weekend are finally up on their website.

Some interesting points:

1. They took Adz's last session off him. No 1.58 for you boy. That'll teach ya to use cheater tyres. haha.

2. BRI 58Y could only manage a best time of 2.24.52 - and he reckon's 1.25's at Sandown?

3. I do get a trophey :) But they expect me to get it on Grand Final weekend :D

I was looking at those phillip island results, just wondering why Troy and geoff have their cars entered in class H for modified cars over 3 litres? I would have thought that a RB20 should be in class C for standard cars up to 3000cc or at least in the same class as Snowman over 3000cc?

Is it because Troy has a high mount turbo setup?

:)

Interloper - yeah it was due to the fact that both of those guys have aftermarket turbo's plus other things where as my and the other guys cars are reasonably stock other than say suspension, ecu and exhaust.

    • I like it when the counter chick leads you out the back into the racks and says "have a grub around in here and see if you can find what you need. I'll be back in a few minutes. Just left me in front of a massive motorised shelving system and 2-3 million fasteners, so I could find a peculiar SS shoulder bolt with cap head. Gotta love country towns.
    • I used this https://osgiken.com.au/product/os-giken-os-250r-lsd-gear-oil-80w250-1-litre/   shut my nismo 1.5 pro up by heaps…. Not silent though. Gives the car character and personality. It ain’t a carolla. If you want silent, put a quaife in it.
    • It's about the same time for me from Bunnings, or the Fasteners. My big push away from takeaway food, and gluten in general keeps me away from the Bunnings Snags too! Weather up here, I've been out for two walks today in the beautiful sunshine. Had a few little drizzles, and some wind, that honestly, a tin of beans and I could compete on how harsh she blows Thankfully, being this bit inland, we're not getting anything much really. Will probably pick up a bit more when/if Cyclone Alfie decides to come ashore. A few areas in the GC though, and south into NSW are really getting smashed though! Right now, I'm just annoyed Alfie hasn't hit, as I'm not allowed to crack into the BBQ foods like the bacon and eggs until the Cyclone hits "In case we lose power"...
    • I love fastener joints, the price difference between them and joints like Bunnings or Super Cheap is amazing, and they either have exactly what you want, or they can get it to quick They have even given me some for free when I only needed a couple of specific size In saying this, I have paid premium for fasteners from Bunnings if they have the sizes I need, but only for convenience really, as my local is only 10 minutes away, the Sushi joint near them is also a consideration  How's the weather Matt? Stay safe mate
    • Wideband is worth setting up if only for tuning purposes. I would not mess with the ignition system unless there's a misfire. HKS crank trigger is popular out here for the relatively easily sourced Denso crank sensor, not a bad idea to install as well regardless of power level on a standalone. Boost leak test is worth thinking about. Oil pressure sensor tied to a fuel cut isn't a bad idea either. Getting the tune figured out is a good idea. Without putting eyes on it and getting under it there's no way for us to tell you exactly what it needs but most likely you're down to the last 10% that will make a big, big difference in how happy you are with the car.
