nice! so a max tow bar it is! gonna ring him and order one now. so any mods have to be done to fit yours? might try do it myself as i have acces to workshop and welder...

no mods required, but the guy at the workshop said it was a bit of a bitch to fit. Wasnt a direct bolt up- really had to work hard to make it all line up

Also, mine wasnt welded into place properly, so it is about 5-10 degrees out (pointing downwards)- not really happy considering the $$ i paid, but it still towed fine. Took my evo to canberra to compete in the evo nationals- was about 15 hours each way and no dramas

Did see if this had been asked anywhere on the thred, but has anyone fited a tow bar up to a 260RS? or any Stag with a 260RS rear bumper... id just like to see what it will possibly look like before i check into it any further...

Cheers

I think you should be *very* careful with that idea. I have seen 3x M35s with cracked rear subframes, they are alloy not steel. If they break on their own I would hate to see how they go with a towbar on as well.

Any pictures of where they crack ?, Would like to keep an eye out to see if I get any action there.

I can imagine that it would be too much of a problem if you weld and reinforce the troubled areas. There is no reason why M35's cant be a good tow vehicle.

I've been speaking to a few tow bar specialists in regards to fitting one to tow high loads such as a car. Although many of them didnt even want to talk about it, there was one guy who sat down and worked out it could be possible but involved major reinforcements around the subframe. He even drew up a diagram showing where the loads will be distributed. Im not sure whether im game to be a guinea pig though..

sorry for the slow response. all 3 M35s had subframes cracked in the same place- directly above where the driveshaft passes through about half way between the front and rear subframe mounts. 2 on the driver side, 1 on the passenger side.

I think you would be mad to put the towbar on an m35. the c34 on the other hand is fine I give me a big workout.
