Single is aparently tougher and easier to balance for those high speed runs ;) Also slightly (VERY slightly) less drag on the drivetrain.

Single also has less things to go wrong with it (uni joints/bearing etc). But you'd have to be looking at big horse power numbers to consider changing.

A single piece tail shaft has less to go wrong, fewer moving parts and hence less power loss.

Why consider a 2 piece?? unless you have a long long distance to travel (aka a truck) or a very severe angle between the gearbox and the dif (aka a raised 4 wheel drive)

If you have cash to waste, go for a carbon fiber tail shaft.

hi there 4door sleeper

call yourself an old fart , i,m an older fart , me i,m 53 and getting faster . check my profile

i,ve got a 2 piece tailshaft now and want to get a single piece one .

as mentioned by jay93r33 , it would be much easier to balance a single piece item , and yep less parts the better
