HERES THE DEAL. Ive had enough. Ive had a gut full of going to Jap car yards here in Australia looking for an R34 GTR that is going to cost me an arm and a leg when the reality is that in Japan they cost as much as a Commodore here (in other words ****all). Lets face it a R34 GTR is not gonna cost in Japan more than 40-50 Thousand $. I AM WILLING TO PAY $1000 TO ANYONE WHO IS ABLE TO SUCCESSFULLY PROVIDE ME WITH DETAILS AND A CONTACT OF AN EXPORTER IN JAPAN who will be able to provide me with an R34 GTR for the right price, grade A.

email me or post a reply asap. [email protected]

4 million yen = approx $66,000 aud landed, compliance ,& tyres and roadworthy items extra

Are you prepared to put down $50 k and wait 6-10 weeks...??

A decent 34 gtr still attracts luxury car tax (nasty), add to that the normal importing fees, transport, re-registration, compliance, mark-up, blah blah blah - and there's your typical australian market price.

You'd be doing very well to get a *worthwhile* (condition, kms) example for under $60k

here's an example that would work:

1-421832-105_1.jpg

99 GTR, 82000kms (that's one reason for the lower price)

cost: approx $50k

If you want one with low kms, 2000+, a v-spec (or up), etc - then you are definitely going to smash through the luxury tax threshold (which, from memory, is at about $57k at the moment).

im willing to put down 40-50k on something for sure as long as i know whats going on and its safe to do so. if its landed at the port here 55k great. if i do buy from someone, i will give them 50% cash in hand so only 1/2 the amount paid appears on documents, that reduces gst and eliminates LCT.

im glad to say i can take care of import, compliance etc.. myself.

the main concern is i need a car that is in top nick v-spec or whatever for around the 40-50. one way to avoid lct and gst is (if the person that sells it to me is willing to do it) pay 50% cash so 1/2 the price can be recorded, that throws LCT out the window, and gst will be reduced.

still i want the car to be A grade with low K's, if you have any info let me know.,

cheers

Nero

I just bought an R34 GTR through a Japanese dealer. Let me know if you want more information.

Your plan of putting only 50% down on the purchase is, however, unlikely to succeed. Even if you get some mate at customs to do some dirty work for you, the Japanese dealer is unlikely to want anything to do with it. It's money upfront all by the book.

Before you say anything, I did already try this. I didnt even ask about reducing it by 50%, I suggested a couple of thousand - just to the point where i wasnt paying any LCT. But alas that was considered impossible.

Also I think you're being slightly optimistic in your price expectations. Expect to pay at LEAST 50k for the car in Japan FOB price. Then factor in shipping and the taxes, customs, LCT, compliance, rego, comprehensive insurance, good alarm since your insurance company will require one and the car probably wont have one... etc etc.. You're looking at very little change from $75 - 80k on road. Even at mates rates.

If you want some more info, pm me.

If you buy a cheap GTR in Japan, i guess you end up with exactly what you paid for...

Your kidding me aren't you?? Everyone thinks that Japan is a wonderland of sports and performance cars, but this is far from true. R34 GTR's have continued to increase in price due to the fact they are the last ones to be made at this stage, so expect to pay good money for one! In some cases, GTR's are more expensive than what they were brand new!

If you want one, your going to have to accept that they are generally not sold for $60k in car yards, as the importers aren't there to sell cars at cost price, they are there to make a profit. You are also paying the premium in a car yard to be able to inspect the car, pick its faults and bargain on the price. A car freshly imported from Japan will always need work done to it (i.e paint/panel work, tyres, service etc) and the car yards spend a lot of time and money on all this work!

grade 5 2000klm @ 7,136000 thats more expensive than new

2001 @ 5.6 million thats pretty close to new price i think

good one`s are going to expensive by the look of it

we know places to get it from but i dunno about shipping. 3,500,000 yen for a standard r34 gt-r and 7,000,000 yen for a nur spec. i dunno how the conversion rate from yen to aus $ works but theres just a bried idea on how much they cost. v spec and v spec ii is somewhere in between those numbers. that dealer is about an hour away from where i live. all they sell is gt-r's.

ive been offered one of two R34 GTRs, one yellow and one white, for under 70K by a guy i knew who imports cars for a living.

Both were registered and roadworthy.

R34 GTR for under 100K? it can be done and it has been done many times.

i dont understand whats so wrong with not wanting to pay stupid prices for a car thats not woth that kind of money. i think 100K+ is over priced and i wouldnt pay that much for an R34 unless it was something really special.

i've got an agent in japan that can handle getting the car from the dealer, getting a mechanical report, deregistering it if its registered, degassing if it needs to be degassed and putting it on an appropriate ship. It all costs money thogh, all up front as each step is taken. No 50% now, 50% later business.

Also a grade A or 5 or whatever is near impossible on an R34 for the price you're looking to pay. And if you're stubborn on that point, then you gotta be patient enought to wait long enough to find it.

no.

what i mean to say is im willing to pay the full amount on a car than and there, only if the man who sells it is willing to jigg the documents so i can avoid tax. Look guys plain and simple there are gtrs that dont cost that much believe me, some of you agree and some of you dont, the fact is im looking for someone that can help me, besides im throwing in $1000 for someone that CAN lean me in the right direction not someone that is wasting my time telling me stories about import laws and regulations, (which i am so familiar with that its getting stupid).

If anyone wants to help me that great, cos i know how to get the car into the country no worries, and its not a matter of mates rates. best price for the best gtr available in Japan, thats all that matters.

Cheers jake32,daioni,sewid(i will get back to you on your reply soon, keep posted).
