I suggest you guys stop talking to this poof JAPCAB, when i was with this chick at some look out i saw him dogging some bloke out the window. I went to hit him but he speed of with his pants down the poof

HAHAHAHA you think japcab was trying to come onto petite and that how the canary ended up happening???? hehehhee

sounds really bad guys My heart goes out to you. Here in adelaide the coppers are just as bad. my car is quite modde BUT to the untrained eye you would never pick it, goty pulled over by a copper down by the bay and he came running up to the car yelling "pull over and pop your bonnet", I did so and he said " you have blow off valve" I replied yes i have a factory blow off valve' he said ' its against ADR to have a blow off valve " I said " with all due respect do you know what you are on about?" all late model turbo cars have factory bov's " he didnt know what to say and walked off.

NOw that was a clear case of harrassment BUT if you handle the situation right you will not have any dramas if you know your shit.

Here's an article from last Sundays Age.

http://theage.com.au/articles/2004/09/05/1...4322623513.html

This particular officer is Frankston's version of Officer Pettiet.

I have received a few "random inspections" and bulls**t defects from this officer. I don't condone what was done, especially in front of his wife and child, but it just goes to show that the saying "nice things happen to nice people" works the other way as well.

I got pulled over right out the front of Knox police station a couple of days after I picked up my car Dont know if it was this cop your all talking about but as the car was fresh from a dealer it was roadworthy no problem there the problem came when he did the licence check- the dealer still hadnt put the forms into vic roads so technically it was still registered to them thats where all the fun started. Had the paperwork from the sale in the glovebox but it still took about 15 min to convince him it was my car.

See what i mean its total bullshit....this guy is just driving along normally...happens to drive past knox cop shop and because he is driving a skyline he gets pulled over for no reason. . . . same thing happens to the canary yellow VL turbos

I have a mate who was pulled over by the Officer in question, my mate drives a bt1 vlt. Got away without a defect or epa. He was told to get some bits engineered, and it would be fine.

So I dont know, i have a theory it comes down to a few things

1. P Plates

2. Ride height - I have a theory that if they cant see an obvious issue with height, they will be less inclined pulling you over and attempting to find something else. If they can see it might be too low, they know they have you on something already.

3. Driving attitude.

4. personalised plates

I guess you can be unlucky. But IMO, end of the day it is only a car, and it is only money. You cant take either one with you when you die.

I have had my car almost 2 years, never been pulled over or epa'ed. Maybe i have just been lucky. That said i will prob get pulled straight away hehe.

Personalised Plates? How on earth would these play a part in making your car defective... more so, why would these get you pulled over?

I could understand derogatory terms/phrases would get a high amount of interest, but, it is my understanding that VicRoads, RTA, et al have a screening process to nut out ppl who would try and register 'banned' make-ups. I have heard, on these forums, of an instance where someone had something on their plates which was eventually ordered stripped from the car due to public 'outcry'.. however, these instances far outweigh the norm...

Plus anyone who would take the path of getting a 'COPSUX', '***YOU' type of plate, then yeah, they deserve all the 'attention' they get from the law.

Anywhos...

Haz that article is crazy, just showes that he could have been an asshole cop and obviously pissed off teh wrong people. It also shows you what does happen if you do piss off the wrong people and most importantly "what goes around comes around".

You never know this Pettiet character may be named after something on his body being Pettiet, and now he's angry at the whole world for it. I do think something may happen if he does piss too many or the wrong people off!

take it easy

I didnt mean it would make the car defective, they just stand out more and attract more attention. I agree that negative attention is unfair.

It is easier for people to remember cars with personalised plates compared with cars with general issue ones.

whoa lot of stuff to read

in regards to this officer, yeah he is pretty strict...but he kinda has a right to be in a way. In terms of givin out dodge defectives, yer thats not on. in terms of power to weight, i know this dude is really tight on it, but i guesssss he does have a point. wat i wanna ask him in reference to P/W is why they dont include driver weight into it, because if the p plater is in question, their weight becomes part of the cars weight, i dunno. just havin a rant

Azron: personalised plates man, it attracts attention. when i had normal plates, nothin happened. as soon as i got personal plates, i been pulled over heaps. all abotu attention sadly

LAST THING guys, be careful wat u say in these forums, because i know 100% they do read these....so just watch out

    • Son, in this country, that is a piece of Gyprock. f**king drywall. FFS! I also like the autocorrect of trailer to tablet. I was reading it and thing, "what the hell drugs is he on?" Then the photo made it clear enough.
    • SO whats the deal with this issue? I've read a heap of posts from the infinity owners in the US having full engine swaps done under warranty. Most claims are done on earlier cars than 2019 but I'm sure I've come across claims of 2020 models also having this issue. I like the 400r and Q50Red/S but can't fathom dumping close to 50k on a car with terminal issues!!!
    • The above video is working normally. That is, that's how the right hand indicator should cancel when rotating the wheel left.
    • I noticed that I could see creatures on the moon when I turned my new headlights on. I thought I should check the alignment. It's pretty rudimentary but I just grabbed some dry wall and put it against my tablet and made sure the beam was below the height on the headlights. Ie the beam is at 600mm on my car, I just made it lower than that 7.5m away.  Not the best but it'll do until I can do it properly at the local shops.
    • As @Duncan said - the bores are most likely to cop it. But anything can and does happen. Rods are cheap. Rods are good. The work to rebuild the motor will be 30x the price of rods. You won't notice it.
