Playing OPTION dvd's

Been wanting to buy some option dvds for awhile, the probem is as many of you would know that they are NTSC format and region 2. What i really want to know is what do i need to watch them. My sony tv has a NTSC support, and my dvd player is a ps2, though i have other ones in the house. can people who are watching them shed some light, i tired searching for awhile.

your going to need a multi region DVD player. The Playstation 2 wont play them, that i do now, nor will an X Box...... i have 21 of the bastards and can only watch them at my girlfriends house

Unless you chip your Xbox/Playstation 2. A number of those dirt cheap DVD players (under $100) that I have seen (I don't have one but my friends do) can play them......

hey 26gts, you can buy for about $20/$40 a cd for the ps2 which allows you to play any region dvd. I cant remember the name, and im running late, so when i got home i will post up the details after i find it (ps yes u can buy this multiregion dvd in australia)

Thanks everyone, i think my cheapest option will be to get a mod chip from mod-chip.com. The DMS3 allows you to play anything and is a pretty high quality chip too.. if anyones interested they are about 88AUD delivered...

Cant wait to play initial and watch the d1 footage on Option... :wassup:

you can also get 'cracks' for most set top DVD boxes...search around on the net for your model... i can't vouch for how well these work however.
