Just posting to see if anybody can verify that this is a TO4E turbo with internal gate.

It is meant to be the standard turbo on my gts-r but another gts-r i have seen had a different one.

Just hoping somebody can confirm what it might be, especially any other GTS-R owners.

Also, you can see that my exhaust housing is restrictive and does not allow a split dump.

I have been told that it is possible to have a different flange made up that will allow me to run a split dump.

Has anybody had a similar exhaust housing modifed to take a split dump?

Thanks in advance

dude,

u'r gonna have to take that rear flange off and have another one made up to suit with the split dump.

That's right, the flange on the back of the turbine cover bolts on. You simply remove it and have the dump made up to suite the bolt pattern on the turbine cover. If I remember rightly it is the "standard" Nissan 5 bolt pattern anyway. It would pay to check it though. I use a piece of carboard, stick it up to the bolt paterns and poke holes in it to line up with the bolt holes. Wander along to your local exhauts shop and compare the carboard with the "standard" 5 bolt flange.

Hope that helps :)

Looks to me like some sort of T3/TO4B hybrid . That exhaust housing and waste gate combination looks like std T3 stuff off an FJ20ET . The trouble is people go looking for an exhaust housing that fits their manifold , then bastardize any combination of T3/TO4B/TO4E/TO4S into it . Lot's of Garrett parts will fit together but only the right combinations work properly .

    • Hi. a little later but if the topic is here. So...the exhaust is the same and you can use 25/Turbo or any aftermarket? What about intake side? Is it too "plug n play" or? (i do not remember for 100% but i think that one intake to head gasket was little bit different than on the RB25 - i bought gasket kit way back) I know that even if it "plug" those butterfly swirls would cause ECU to be confused or?   Just asking for the info 🙂 and of course the RB25 things are easier to come by

    • Hi everyone, I’m Dave from Canberra. Here's a few pics of my 1992 R32 GTST coupe which I imported back in 2006. Only mods so far are HKS Hi-power cat back exhaust, K&N filter, ATC Volanti steering wheel, Pioneer stereo, amp and sub. This was my daily driver up until 2015 and sadly hasn’t been driven at all in the last 5 years due to marriage, work, and kids taking up most of my time and spare cash.As such its in need of a bit of TLC and one of my goals for this year is to get it back to running condition and maybe look into club/historic rego. I’ve joined SAU so I can ask a few questions along the way (although I promise to google Current Problem +SAU beforehand!)
