me and a couple of mates are going to this weeks open practice at calder....i realise its a short track and may be crap...but hey its close and apart from the need for driving suits(which they hire for $30)the requirements are pretty basic...would be good to see any others join in

inark "open practice" is different to the other sessions and requires a driving suit.

It's done on Wednesdays during the day 9am-4pm

however, $165 is out of my price range.... if I had that sort of money to burn, i'd be burning it on an advanced driving course.

its wednesday....pickles in airport west?was it out front of a panel shop?

yeah :)

hard to miss with those carbon fibre tail light surrounds

i was thinking of trying to get the car to the drift prac on wednesday night... cant make the open session during the day because of work.

yeah

yeah the guy that owns that shop is by far the most talented yet unrecognised guy i have ever met.......i have seen him make panels and lead load, unbeleivable tradesman and one of the nicest guys you are ever likely to meet...what was you doing down that neck of the woods nark?

hmmmmmmmmmm... sounds good... wonder if he'll modify my front guards... vent them... make em nice and wide... should be pretty easy so if he can make his own panels im sure it will be easy as for him :D

i went down there to get a car towed from pickles... went past with Jack. Almost missed it thanks to Jacks decked out truck :D

it was good....i am running low boost at the moment,i just needed a tiny bit more boost then i reckon i wouldve done the 360 modena on the straight (my highest speed was about 240)oh and i mightve had a chance in the corners too but i needed some neg camber :D

    • Thanks mate 👍 The car was brought into the UK by a USAF mechanic until he was stationed back to the US, one owner later I bought her back in 2009. Luckily the only corrosion was on the sill seams, so once taken back to metal and treated and sealed all ok, I then undersealed the car myself and check yearly and treat any corrosion which to be honest is zero. She's garaged most of the time and hardly ever driven in the rain, but as you say most are rotten unfortunately, I was lucky in finding her as she was and still is in excellent condition.
    • Stunning car.  Looks amazing!  You're in the UK?  How the hell do you stop your car rotting away beneath you?  British cars are the WORST I've ever seen in regards to rust.  Some of the cars SR Autobody have done are borderbeyond saving.
    • not a date code? or a foundry code?
    • I have up to date pics of the engine build and turbo conversion over on my instagram @skpro_jects if you want to take a deeper look.   Basically the exhaust manifold is straight bolt on and the ports match (they arent any smaller than a 25 or 26 head).    the intake ports are different shape so the 20/25det manifold will bolt up but wont match properly or seal. You will need to port match using the 25det gasket as a stencil. Personally i ran the entire stock 20neo intake setup and have configured the swirl valves and torque valve to work based on my custom parameters to help with off boost response and spool. But this is using a standalone aem v2 ecu. The stock 20det ecu wont be able to control them.
    • Hi. a little later but if the topic is here. So...the exhaust is the same and you can use 25/Turbo or any aftermarket? What about intake side? Is it too "plug n play" or? (i do not remember for 100% but i think that one intake to head gasket was little bit different than on the RB25 - i bought gasket kit way back) I know that even if it "plug" those butterfly swirls would cause ECU to be confused or?   Just asking for the info 🙂 and of course the RB25 things are easier to come by
