Just installed my CES dump pipe yesterday, and am absolutely loving it!!! After having a look at my standard turbo it has minimal shaft movement (in & out, and up & down)... thinking of boosting up to 12psi next week or so when the power fc gets tuned until my new turbo comes in a month. Is this a good idea? am i risking damage to the turbo and engine??

increasing boost is always increasing chance of damage to the turbo.

Having said that, little movement in the shaft is normal.

AND, you have a new turbo coming in a month anyway, so go right ahead.

12 psi - odds are in your favour.

yeh 12psi is pretty much the safest high boost setting

standard turbo doesnt make any more power after 12psi anyway, bout the only thing it does is put more oil in the catch can

CES dump pipe is the best investment for my car up to now!!! I highly recommend it!!! The sound is second to none, and the performance increase is huge. Seems like the car pulls very strong on standard boost and is a lot smoother. Didnt you get one knore??

Yeh pretty much, picking it up soon, just getting some small things done first like rearbar etc to get them outta the way

My mechanic, who is very conservative and knowledgable about Skylines says 12.5 psi is absolutely fine.

Knore - where are you getting your info about standard turbo not making any more power after 12 psi? Seems a little far fetched to me... (no offence intended).

I've put over a bar through mine and it hammered. Admittedly it spat a gasket and an intercooler pipe though .
