generally the originals are plastic rather than fibreglass.. although some originals are fibreglass also.

I remember on my sideskirts, they had a sticker on the inside with the branding. No reason why a copy couldn't either, but would be a bit of extra work to fake them up.

the new stuff like URAS eurathane bumpers flex a lot (you can twist it and it won't break)... try that on a el cheapo copy and you'll be left with shards of fibreglass.

also the originals tend to have better build quality, the number of layers used, the strands of FRP used etc. in an attempt to cheapen the price of copies, some bodykit makers skimp on the numebr of applications they use. Some people back in the day used to use a wire mesh to strengthen the kit, these days kits are meant to come off at a tap, drifter style.

Also the binding compound they use, some of em are more heat resistant than others, some are less susceptible to chemical damage.

At the end of the day, you can pay too much for a brand name when you buy an original, or you can pay too little for an el cheapo copy. you basicallly gotta find somewhere inbetween to find value for money.
