What is this box???

I have a box (looks like some sort of resistor) on the inside left panel of my 94 r33 gtst in the boot, right above where the jack goes and where you access the arieal. It has two wires running to it one is black and the other grey, it gets pretty damn hot. I was wondering what this unit was and is the heat normal?

at a guess, I would say something to do with the antenna, maybe an RF amplifier???

it is a resistor, something to do with the car's electrical system. Maybe it dissipated extra energy being produced by the alternator when nothings being used in the car.

It's a fuel pump resistor....

1. Start your car

2. Disconnect resistor

3. Watch car run out of fuel and stall after about 15seconds.

4. Laugh at the stupidness of the device (wtf is it for anyway!)

after finding it, being curious, and ripping it out, I found out the hard way

i searched nissan fast for a while with my vin number r33 and couldnt find out what the part is or even a picture of it
