How much of a disadvantage is having ABS going to create when wanting to drift. im not talking about some crappy oversteer on the street. im talking about drift using real braking and wieght shifting tecniques that are needed to brake the tail out comming into corners at resonable speed, or perhaps most speeds... dont quote me.

As it is rare or undesirable to lock the wheels while drifting (excluding rear wheels with Handbrake of course) im thinking having ABS might not prove to much of a disadvantage. I however am not an expert. I have noticed that some d1 cars with abs standard have had it removed, i wasnt suprised though but im starting to get paranoid :headspin:

Im thinking though that if what ive said is correct then i shouldnt be locking the front wheels so the abs wont come into play anyhow. im hoping anyway. if it is a problem can i remove a fuse to disable the abs temporarily?

cheers :P

thats really interesting, I thought ABS would be fine too, until watching the D1 guys last weekend....I mean they are a level above what Aus has to offer, but they often had 4 wheels locked coming into the corner so they must have been on the brakes on the way in, ABS wouldn't allow it....But anyway, if you want no ABS, just take the fuse, most of the time for road and sometimes even track driving it is great

Duncan, thanks for that i will look into pulling the fuse. I have also noticed the D1 GP drivers braking so hard and with such talent that they can lock all wheels comming into corners among other things. I dont think ill be pushing oor shouod i say braking my car that hard so it shouldnt be to much of a problem. Good to hear i can pull a fuse and not remove the whole ABS frm the car. thanks again Dunc.
