Man, its my first time around the QR Clubman circuit also. All my previous track experience is up at Morgan Park. Also be a good test of the next version of the timing gear, I have added a speed reading to the lap times.

One of the GTR's has side pipes (for the track) that exit just in front of the passenger side rear tyre, man does that sound sweet under full noise.

should be a blast.. just need to get the fluid flushed and some nice DOT stuff put in there, and I will be ready to hit the track by wednesday! (yes wednesday :D)

I will be slowest out there, but not too fussed :( Will be good practice for when the other car is ready to really mix it out there.

Hey guys and gals,

I've never been to a track day before, only had my skyline about a month,

...So what is the deal, how is the day run? Does everyone get a certian number of laps? I guess there is no wheel to wheel racing, just time trials?

Does it matter how modded (fast) your car is?

Scrutineering (spelling?), what is the deal there?

I'm really keen to come along to the next one,

Sprint days are run by Queensland Raceway under the auspices of AASA which is a similar organisation to CAMS.

Level 1 sprints are open to anyone with a mechanically sound car, scrutineering is on an honour system. You are not expected to turn up with an unsound car ie mechanical problems, rust, oil leaks etc. If you do you will not be welcome back. You must have 3 point seatbelt as a minimum, helmet and long sleeve top, long leg pants and shoes. A valid drivers license and you will need an AASA Clubman licence ,cost $50 for 12 months.

Level 1 sprint event consists of usualy 3 lots of 5 laps, a group of 8 or 9 cars is on the track at any one time, overtaking is allowed.

pre entry is required entry forms available on the Queensland Raceway web site. The 1.89km sprint track is used.

Level 2 sprint is by invitation, you will be sent an entry form. Generally you must complete 3 or 4 L1 sprints to qualify for L2. The 2.11km Clubman track is used

The format is similar 3 warmup laps, 5 qualifying laps then 2 lots of 5 laps with a 3rd time permitting. there are other events needing an upgraded licence.

The Wed track day is slightly different in that is a private event ie not open to the general public unlike the normal L1 and L2 sprint days. see www.queenslandraceway.com.au dor details, dates and entry forms,

    • Well, no. It's an 023, which is pretty similar to an 040. Although it is hard to tell from the specs, as given.
    • Hmm. Maybe the (other thing I forgot about!) Haltech removes at least some, if not all, of the problem I described. I guess there is still the possibility of getting it wrong if the AC is set up/wired up for the Haltech as if it was in an R34 (simply because it's on a Neo), and that's playing foul with the R32 AC computer.
    • Glad it eventually came out Duncan!   I believe that might be 040. 044 is the inline pump, so has screw fittings in and out. 040 is more just drop it in fuel and the bottom is "open" (mesh) from my memory
    • well mate, while I hear your pain, turns out I don't feel it this time! Must have been a bastard of a job crammed into the boot The tank was very empty (probably pumped out, not dropped and drained because there were some fumes still) and in very good condition internally. I'm sure he never ran e85 in it I don't know what the hell Nissan's fuel tank engineers were thinking about their clipping system, this hanger was really hard to get moving but came out in the end All looks very good (as I'm starting to hopefully expect) and Matty was right it is an 023 (044) bosch which should be plenty for the injectors and turbo
