I have an intriguing question...

How have you guys mounted it to the front bar?? I have an R33 with M-spec bar (not that that matters) and i find the plate is too wide for the slot... at this stage i have just tried to pad in behind it, but its not going to well and the paint has been scraped from the pressure by the number plate.

I have noticed that my mums B4 has a similar situation, but she has some kind of bracket behind which makes the number sit further forward, hence not rubbing against the paint...

I hope you guys know what i'm talking about, just wondering if anyone has some suggestions for me.

Cheers.

you can put brackets in or you can cut it... well i am pretty sure it may be not so legal but i have done it with mine the only thing that is missing is a little bit of the silver off the sides it fits perfect now you can hardly tell... well sorta but it looks better ;)

Before I got my mspec bar cut, my plate used to just bend a little in the middle. I screwed it into the normal place, but it didn't scrape or anything. Just slightly arched the middle of the plate.

It didn't permanently arch it either. Cause now I've got the front bar cut, it just sits flat along the top.

when i got my car it was already like this, but the plates are bent right at the edges so its the right distance across but its not actually cut so i think it should be ok legality-wise...

Got S2 front bar and car was sold to me from dealership with bent plates...

Might be a silly question, but does anyone know if there are laws against bent number plates?

In Qld it is Illegal to have bent plates, they call it defacing government issue items, or some shit like that........However i have only ever heard of ONE person being booked for it.

It may depend how nice you are to the officer that pulls you over.

I tend to use small brackets that screw into the underside of the top section of the bar and then are bent upwards, keeps the plate away from the bar. Works a treat. About 45cents each from bunnings
