MTX 6.5" splits in Stock Front Speaker Location?

Can anyone tell me how much room there is in the stock front speaker location to mount replacement speakers? Im trying to find out if there is enough depth for a pair of 6.5" MTX thunder6000 component speakers in the stock location. the site says the depth is 2.71" and i'd like to know if the speaker will skrew straight into the stock mounting position?

you will have to use a mdf speaker spacerto clear the window

Thanks, how thick does the spacer need to be? will the speaker still fit behind the standard door skin?

Unless your worried about adding a few kilos to your car I would take the opportunity to sound deaden it as well.
