S1/s2 Rb25det?

Hi guys,

Does anyone know how to tell the difference between a S1 and S2 RB25DET?

If I had two motors sitting there, how would I tell the difference?

IS there a difference?

S1 has an ignitor module on the top of the coil cover, S2 just has a plug. S1 also has a different TPS I believe, though I'm not sure what's different about it.

Afaik they're mechanically the same.

Cant see the back of the rocker/coil cover. Does it have the ignitor?

Unfortunately thats pretty much the only pic of the engine bay as the car is still in Japan and its in a Cefiro.

Look at the TPS. On series one you have a blanking plug in one of the sockets but on Series 2 you have them both cabled.

There are other differences but that one was obvious in the first pic.

Late 95 R33's came with the series 2 engine and series 1 interior as i know true or not??

and if so is it just the engine or other series 2 front end parts??
