God damn thats lush.

I wish I could get 40k together in time before the auction closes.. I would take one of these over an r33 gtr any day. :)

WOW! That is beatiful. It's as close as you could get to buying a brand new R32 GTR. 12000ks, full service history, one owner. That my friends is a collectors car. If I hadn't just bought a 32GTR I would stretch the budget to buy that for sure. WOW!

looks all good except the semi rusty brake rotors...

thats not a problem. just shows that the car hasnt been driven for a while. happens to all cars that sit around.

its good to get a car with that low ks but i dunno about 40,000. maybe if the ks were that low on a 93 or 94 but not an 89...

It's not about the km's, its about the CONDITION of the car. If you think your car is anything close to that for 14k, Your dreaming.

Aybee: its 12,000kms. I would take this over an 93-94 model i've ever seen on the auctions my friend :)

I spent similar money for a 100,000 kay logged aus delivered stock 91 GTR. Mine is in pretty much perfect condition.

I would, if I hadn't bought my car yet, probably gone for one like this - looks great.

Only one question - why is the engine bay painted black? Were all 32Rs engine bays black?

yeah theres just a stigma with selling older cars.

like mine, its faster than lots of cars around, but cause its a 32 no-one wants to buy it. cause this is a 89, there would be less people inclined to pay 40k for it, no matter what condition. to many people a perfect 89 is not worth 15k more than an excellent 89, or even a 93,etc.

There is no doubt its an outstanding example: buy it, garage it, count the concourse trophies.

However, I personally would not buy that car for $40K. Why? Well, I think I would be afraid to drive it: I wouldn't want to add milage, have it affected by wear and tear, or god forbid, be scratched, keyed, bumped, crashed into, etc. What's the point of a "driver's car" -- which is what a GT-R is all about -- if you can't or won't drive it?

Moreover, when it comes to buying cars, a car that is used regularly and well maintained is often a better buy: cars that sit for long periods have a whole other set of problems compared to your average car.

Stirlo_GTR: lol -- are you seriously comparing you $15k GT-R to this?

Garage queen.

This is much more common in Ferrari land where you might see a 30 year old car with 5,000km on the dial and still with the original spark plugs, tyres etc.

While this sort of car makes me wanna sit down, look at those lovely pictures and have a drink, the reality is that Hiroshi Hasegawa like Enzo Ferrari, wanted these cars to be driven, driven hard and even abused.

Are there even concourse events for Japanese cars?
