I can get a set of Porsche GT3 callipers from a 996, what do I need to do to fit them to my 32GTR?

Questions include:

1. can I use them with the 16's?

2. can I adapt them to the existing discs?

3. will I need a adapter bracket, and where can I get them?

4. anything else?

I need some help because it seems that alot of skyline guys have done a porsche calliper conversion on their cars :D

Cheers in advance

I can put you onto someone in Melbourne that will be able to help - he's a specialist machinist that has fitted Porsche calipers to 240Z/260Z and does work for local performance specialists. PM if you want details.

If I remember correctly these calipers are radial mount and you'll definately need an adaptor bracket. I suspect they are also designed for bigger discs and wheels

Id be amazed if you could use them on std R32 GTR rotors and fit them inside the std 16" rims.

17s and 330mm rotors are minimum form what i have seen and combined would probably give better braking performance then the caliper alone (But wouldnt those calipers look Boss!:P)

Perhaps the money is better off being spent on some better quality rotors and 17" rims, then if you can still stretch the dollars or find that your lacking brakes (doubtful) then look at calipers.

That said im with you, i want some big calipers just because they look tough:)

Yeah, I will be going for some bigger rims, probably in an 18... but in time.

Just thought I'd try and be lazy for the time being and squeeze them under the stockers ;)

No real point getting them and having them sit in the garage for a year, so will probably just source some when I get some bigger rims :D

Thanks guys

PS my mate sourced some for me... don't know where from sorry

    • Is it a dog or synchro box? I guess either way, if it is new and crunching in one gear only, it has to come out and go back to the shop to check/measure as there is either an assembly or manufacturing issue
    • These are small points I should actually add to my original post. GKtech makes an extended slave line for this conversion. It's what I use, and it works well. You'll also need a CD009 slave cylinder.  S/R Chassis Z33/Z34 Conversion braided clutch line As for transmission sensors, you'll need to both extend the wiring and replace the connectors. I can't recall which is which, but one is your neutral switch and the other the reverse switch. As they are just switches, just test for continuity with your transmission in neutral or reverse to figure out which is which. • I’ll try and see it could be the release bearing. As for the 4th gear grind maybe clutch doesn’t disengage properly cause it is slightly like very slightly hard to go into first could be due to the slab cylinder pin being short uni clutch is a twin plate.   Ive attached some assembly photos hopefully you can open the link and see maybe detect what’s wrong https://share.icloud.com/photos/0dc2YvW__Hl6jl-l2_0jejjpg https://share.icloud.com/photos/09e0jkWOK-vP48c1cfY6u3ViA https://share.icloud.com/photos/0b4rDmh5R7pK7fb1VtND73a3g https://share.icloud.com/photos/05eeUi_6dC4DVi80jOUYDgb0g https://share.icloud.com/photos/06335TgY1XxyIJal_wkdQLhzw
