ATTENTION: NOOB Question!

Im gettin a fmic next weekend and was just wondering if its worth goin on a dyno for a tune. Only mods at the moment are POD filter exhaust and runnin 10psi, but once the cooler goes on im gonna run 12psi. Just thought i might wack it on a dyno just to get it tuned properly so it runs really nicely. Is this possible with the stock ECU?

Thanks in advance

Not really no,

But you can reset the ecu after installing the front mount and it will self learn everything over again.

Do this buy disconecting the battery and pumping the brake pedel a couple of times and reconnecting again. After starting car let it idle for a couple min's then turn the a/c on and let it idle for another few min, then take it for a drive.

hope that helps

:)

Yeah i was told about this, but i dont want to disconnect the battery because it will reset the alarm as well which is not somehting i want to do as its a pretty razy alarm and re programming it or whatever u have to do would not be a 5 second job to say the least

Only to check your A/F ratios to get them running around 12.5 under full boost, The only real way you can change this is to change the ammount of boost your running.

eg: You carnt alter the fuel maps, so the fuel is set as standard so you have to get the right boost pressure to make sure you arent leaning it out, this could mean you have to runs less boost to get the a/f ratios right, untill you can afford a bigger fuel pump.

If you wanna get something like a SAFC to start with.

Should be able to get one reasonably cheap 2nd hand. They can be dyno tuned.

I had one (sold now), I was running 10psi like youself, with pod and full 3" exhaust.

No front mount though

Before tune, 1st run, it was 154 rwkws.

After, it was 177 rwkws.

So about $300 for the SAFC and i paid $150 for an hour dyno tune at Unigroup.

I ended up selling the SAFC and installed it on a mates car.

He got it tuned too and got 176 rwkws. Definatley worth looking into and easily saleable when you wanna upgrade.

I now have a Power FC but am putting of the install until i get the front mount done.

Hopefully get around the 190 mark if i also increase to 12psi. Hmmmm, yummy

Hey i have an r33 gtst, with the following mods; Kakimoto cat back exhaust, intercooler, CES double dumps and front pipe, Hi-flowed cat, 500hp fuel pump, blitz pod, heavy duty clutch and running 10psi. With these few mods my car makes 193.7rwkw's in shootout mode 04. The fellas at Apc are the ones who do most of the work on my car, and recomend gettin a dyno run/tune just to adjust timing and boost and obviously to check air/fuel ratios are good. So a dyno tune/run can be a good thing, even though u are limited by the stock computer.
