Guys,

Sounds like a stupidly simple question, but people can't tell me.

Anyone know where I can get information on the type of oil filter ( ie. part no.) for an RB26DETT as I'm aiming at this weekend to perform an oil change. I went to Evolution R and they said it would be listed as the car actually came to Australia in '90. Checked the catalogues and they are not listed.

Need Help, noone seems to know.

Thanks.

Thanks again, $9.95 from Nissan, should've just gone there in the first place.

You wouldn't believe this, actually you will, removed old filter and failed to attempt to wipe the surface clean (it's hard enough getting my hands down there), so proceeded to apply film to newie and screw it down.

Seemed to screw on softly but not too bad, so filled the case and started the engine to fill the filter. Didn't get oil pressure! Stopped the engine and looked under the car to find all my new oil all over the garage floor. Turns out the seal from the old filter stayed on the motor hence causing a major oil leak with pressure.

How dumb was that!! Don't say it. I know.

Anyway, done.

FRAM PH3682 can be used on RB26 and is a bit narrower than Ryco 145a, so you dont need tiny jap school girl's hands to fit the oil filter at factory location. :D

btw the situation described just above about oil gone all over the garage floor.. *cough* been there done that *cough* :)

Hehehe.... Welcome to the club man! Did that with my WRX before. Gave myself the "goose of the day" crown for that.

:bonk:
