just been told i cant fit springs myself as i nedd a spring compressor to get them on, and to have then fitted will cost around $200, surely people have fitted their own springs? very frustrating as its gonna cost me around $50 000 to have the bloddy mods done i need to get them to go on the car properly anyway.

so do i have to have a spring compressor or can i put them on myself like i had planned?

a spring compressor is like a big clamp that brings the spring down so you cant take to top off the strut and take the spring off.

you can get em from aynwhere like super cheap auto, repco, auto1.

its not that hard to do

Andrew - I've got a set of spring compressors at my place if you want to borrow them for the weekend.

Don't pay anyone to do it, it's pretty damn easy to do.

Me and a few mates did my old R33. In the time it took me to take the back seat and back parcel shelf out my mates had already got both front struts out of the car and was changing the springs !!!!

Drop me a PM if you want to pick up the spring compressors.

J

Edit: Oh, the only special thing you need to change the springs is a big ass socket for the nut on the bottom of the struts - and a big extension bar :D
