I don't understand, how come my black car gets much hotter is summer than my white car? :cooldance

Bet your White car has BLACK tinted windows though :uh-huh:

I willl have a AFM to Turbo pipe also, thanks Bass Junky.

-Joel-

There will be 10mm between the AFM and TURBO and the new pipe on each end. This is to allow for expansion, engine movements and misalignment.

I wouldn't think it would take up 38mm though. BUT. The approximate price for one off is about $200 plus clamps and hoses.......

You could always modify the pipe when the RB30 goes in.....

Thinking how the extra height affects the shape of the pipe is what worries me.

I don't think it really needs to be trimmed but more so take on a different bend.

If the head/turbo setup is sitting 38mm higher then the pipe is going to require less of a bend. I've measured up etc and I am 99% sure I won't be able to get the pipe in but get a custom jobbie made up ;)

When are you planning on having these ready?

All I'm waiting on is a few little hoses from Nissan as i've had a couple little ones pop :D

I'm going to get them made as soon as I can.

I'm going to have to pull my car apart this weekend on Saturday morning and have the guys at my work help me out to make up a jig of where the Turbo inlet snout and AFM pipe sit, then supply that to the fabricator so that they can make up a sample.

Then I have to test that sample to see whether it will fit on an R33 and R32, and if anybody has a Stagea in Melbourne, one of them too.

them all being well and they are all the same, put them into production.

This could take a few weeks yet.

Okay people.....

We have a serious problem.

There is currently a bloody rex above me, because some bugger has voted me down.

There are two skylines in the top two positions, and now I'm in fourth.

Look!

This cannot happen. That rex must be put in it's place. Please vote me up.

I won't do this group buy before I hit the top of the list at least once.

Let rally together and put three skylines on the top of the ranks.

Looks like my vote tipped the scales. ;)

Hey guys.

Okay, this weekend I'm pulling my inlet system apart to start making the prototype Inlet Duct.

I will be making up a mild steel Jig to which my fabricators will then make the aluminium ducts around. I'm borrowing an R33 rubber duct from Jager (thanks heaps man, I'm sure everyone one else appreciates you lending this to me also) to make sure it will be spot on too. If anybody knows of a rubber duct for an R32 lying around, I would love to borrow that too.

Ya wanna know the method eh?

Well, I'm going to refit my original Air Box to locate the AFM where it should be from the factory. The I'm going to remove the top off the standard airbox for room to move. Then I'm going to remove the original rubber duct to the Turbo and all pipes that go with it.

I will cut some Mild Steel rings from sections of 3" pipe and place them at the outlet of the AFM and the inlet of the Turbo. I will most likely tape these into position. Once they are secured, I will get a section of, say, 25 x 5 flat bar, hold it between the two rings, make sure it touchs and tack weld the bar to the rings. Then I'll untape the rings, remove the little jig I have made and pat myself on the back.

THEN, I'll get some more flat bar, much bigger this time, and weld the rings to this flat bar in the exact positions they are in. This jig will be made to stand upright on a fabrication bench so that making the pipes is easy. (Makes it take less time for the fabricatiors and therefore, cheaper prices can be had) I'll then cut off the piece of flat between the two rings and Bob's your uncle. Jig complete. I coat of paint will stop it from dirtying my car when I take it down to the fabricators.

What I'll also do, just to get really fancy, is fit the rubber duct to this jig, and add some little stubs for where the PCV and BOV return pipes go.

THEN, once that's done, I can simply trial fit a duct from any model of Skyline and Ceffy and Stag-eeee-ahhh see whether it will fit. This will be much easier than trial fitting the prototype duct to each of the RB engined cars.

So, there you go, that's my project for the weekend. I'll take heaps of photos for everyone to have a look at.

Remember, the more people we get the cheaper the price will be.

Tell your friends.

P.S. Now I'm only 5th on the list on Aussie wheels. I know all the top section is skylines, but I wanna be on top for a little bit. Help me out.

Hey guys.

I have mine off the R32 GTS4 (should be same as GTS) lying around at the moment so you can borrow for a week or so til I need it back - maybe longer.

You can pickup in the City from tomorrow as I will take it to work Sat.

Let me know before 5:00PM today.
